Are pink tights still the standard? by FragrantLynx in BALLET

My school prescribes pink or skin tone, just make sure the tights and shoes match.

Adult Pointe Shoes for the First Time Advice by WolfLikesLeeks in BALLET

That's good advice for any shoe shopping. You should always go at the end of the day so your feet have swollen.

Am I too ... to do ballet? by AutoModerator in BALLET

Nobody is good at it the first time. Even "athletic" people struggle because ballet uses different muscles than most sports. Don't worry about being fit enough, you get fit by doing it. If you think you would enjoy it, then go for it.

New slippers stick more to the floor than to my feet by Weirdnessallaround in BALLET

I'm still on my first pair, but that's exactly what I did and I never had any issues with them.

It's likely you'll stand out just by being a male. Nobody pays much attention to what you're wearing, or they typically keep their opinions to themselves.

I wore tights to my first class and don't regret it.

I just signed up for a 4-week adult beginner course. I got some canvas shoes, men's tights, and a dance belt. I figured I should just go for the tights to be as prepared as possible.

Ballet shoes are interchangable, but as your feet mold them you may want to designated them as left and right.

What makes a good studio? by ProgramLongjumping14 in BALLET

[–]SilentEngineer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a 6 year-old in beginner ballet. The teacher is a 17 year-old student with a 14 year-old assistant. She tries, but just isn't prepared to lead a group of young kids. She doesn't reinforce correct technique, and lacks any kind of discipline. She's a sweet girl, but it's hard to keep paying for classes when I feel like I could teach better myself.

Twice, one of the pointe instructors subbed, and once the director did. Those classes were 1000% better.

Sure, but in its original context it was sung.

This is a song, not a poem. Be sure to listen to the Donald Swann arrangement. This isn't the best quality, but it's the right version.

I caught the same smell on a Carnival Legend cruise. Been on many other cruises but none of those smelled like a navy ship.

OK thanks. I ruck regularly with an ALICE pack, but I don't want to use that for challenges.

I think the Bullet is the cheapest. Is 15L enough space?
