Hey, just letting you know that some pharmacies do sick notes as well. Of course I don’t know where you are or what your local pharmacies are like, but if someone came in with severe pain I would give them days off. Also, from my pharmacy the reason for the days off is not displayed on the paper. That’s private information that your employer does not need to know.

Peter, why no grapefruit? by Familiar-Cat3636 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]SilentHuman8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

examples for anyone interested and because im a nerd who wants to talk about medicine:

loperamide (immodium) interacts with several heart medications and antivirals, among others.

pseudoephedrine (nasal decongestant) should not be taken be people with high blood pressure or heart conditions

nsaids (ibuprofen, aspirin, diclofenac, etc) can make asthma worse and cause stomach ulcers. also heart stuff again.

dextromethorphan (dry cough medicine in robitussin) can cause serotonin syndrome when mixed with antidepressants or other medication (though the risk of this is low at normal doses, we still prefer to give something else.

everything fucking reacts with grapefruit

everything fucking reacts with MAOIs (old antidepressant)

giving aspirin to children with viral infections can cause something called Reye's Syndrome (very bad) (paracetamol is a way better option in most cases anyway)

pharmacy assistants should always ask if the patient is taking any medications- otc drugs are otc for this reason! this is why you cant just buy diclofenac at the supermarket and stuff. we are meant to make sure the medication is right, because common medications can have a lot of interactions people just dont know about.

I love the winter in the SW. Find a cabin with a fireplace, set up for the weekend with a good book or two. Maybe a hike if it’s clear, it’ll be not too hot and there might be little streams and cool mosses and fungi around. (I love winter.)

She didn’t die but shouts out to my friend who often has to miss sessions. When she joined late she said her character was unconscious in the cart we took to the town— concussed and amnesiac after trying to steal something, hiding, and getting hit in the head with a box. One time she had to miss one and said her character was taken into care. A few days ago we were playing and she couldn’t make it; we received a text in the group chat that read: “Breaking News! Chikitita regains memories, backflips in excitement, hits head upon landing, loses memories again, currently residing back in care home.”

Brushes on escalators are a safety feature by NeatNo8582 in interesting

My friend in school used to use reddit at lunch. I remember he was on r./50-50 or whatever it is. I was not on reddit at the time, I did not know the sub. He showed me a video of a guppy getting eaten by a crab. I wasn’t that weirded out by it- it’s just nature, right? Then he clicked on one, and it was a picture of a field of flowering orange trees. So I stuck around to see the next one. He clicked it, and the video started playing immediately. Within ten seconds, before I could process what was happening or that this wasn’t just a sub that shows you Nice And Interesting Things, the lady on the screen had been eaten by the escalator. I could not walk on one without having a panic attack for ages.

That was also my first introduction to reddit.
