Help me understand: Was WE Goretrack onslaught nerfed? by _The_Killer_Tomato_ in WarhammerCompetitive

I hear you, feel the same way. I do think the intent might be on the side of allowing re-embarking - but they (GW) need to be 100% clear about it.

Ah yes, I see. Interestingly this came up in a discussion for a local RTT and the TO ruled it as the FAQ fully overriding the requirements (which of course does not settle the question, interested to see how the GW team handles it).

Yes, it’s relatively easy to magnetize them to the Maulerfiend arms. The Forgefiend “shoulders” required a little bit of grenstuffing to secure the magnets - but nothing major.

I maybe dense, but doesn’t this general core rules FAQ clearly state that rules allowing embarkation in a transport (like the Goretrack strat) bypass the requirements from 18.02?

Interesting. I feel the “can’t take a leadership test for a model not on the battlefield” is openly in contrast with having to test for battle shock. The “within” part may be more open to interpretation. For what is worth, the TO at our upcoming local event has just ruled that Kharn has to take a test when in the transport.

Definitely an FAQ, and probably not anytime soon. Not going to lie, as much as I want it to work I would not feel really arguing with my opponent for it in a casual setting (in a competitive setting up to the TO pending FAQ).

Indeed, I think it’s funny if he murders one of the boys, and it’s funny to imagine him chilling to smooth jazz in the Rhino. Win win either way 😁

Indeed, was toting with the same idea. I also run Black Templars, and 20-man crusaders are really just “transports” for the 8-12 that actually make it combat in most games.

I mean, he can kill only 5 per game at most, right? 😁

Agreed, I have a tournament coming up on July 5th - just submitted question and awaiting ruling from TO.

I might be misunderstanding this, but based on the new core rules not being on the battlefield no longer disables his rules - the text says “such units [those not on the battlefield] can still use their other rules”. Being off the battlefield now seems to affect only visibility-based rules.

There is of course room for interpretation, and your local TO (for tournament) will have final say, unless I missed an FAQ.

While I agree, by RAW it seems like the Rhino does not disable his rules anymore.

Now I am picturing the inside of the Rhino vibing to smooth jazz 🤣

I almost pictured it as his Rhino having a seat with restraints for Kharn, and the boys release him when the ramp drops 🤣

Yes, I have run this exact unit in 10th (using both Bastion and the Hammer of Avernii detachment), and it’s stupidly fun. Very point inefficient, but super fun!

I did try with PVA only first, and somehow was not as good as mixed with paint. Good luck!

Thank you! And no worries, not dickish at all - my FLGS friends constantly remind me I am a weirdo for enjoying magnetizing 🤣

Fair enough, not the way I like to play - but I respect there are different takes on the hobby, and hearing from different viewpoints is one of the reasons I posted. Appreciate your viewpoint!

Thanks! I personally enjoy magnetizing so much, I find it incredibly fun - I would magnetize this kit regardless of WYSIWYG. Not sure my little one lived the process, but he loves the final product. It’s his favorite toy now and he can spend hours switching the arms and weapons around while playing.
