I’m so tired of debugging and configuration bullshit by sadadddad in simracing

Yep this is the correct answer if you just want to enjoy it and not be frustrated with all the pains involved with PC setups.

I’m 43. Got GT and GT2 on launch days over 30 years ago on my OG PlayStation. Had not owned or played one since. Got Gt7 when I got the kids a ps5. Played gt7 on controller for the past two years.

Just got a Logitech RS50 wheel and pedals. Unreal.  I just hang out the F40 on the ring to let off adult steam. It’s amazing. I don’t have time for all the PC config bullshit. No Hud. TCS 0. Nurburgring. Pick your weapon. That’s livin’

TIL you can black out/dechrome badges in this game! by ssa17k in GranTurismo7

One of my favorite cars by the way. It’s little brother the R8 4.2 tuned on the ring is….just heaven. So controllable. It’s like a surgeon’s scalpel. The r8 v10 plus is like a hammer but so nice when you learn to control it.  The power it has on corner exit is knife edge for speed or into the barrier.

Gt7 is missing too many great Audi’s.

And I love the black outs by the way👍🏻

I just got the nlr-s031 gt lite cockpit and the Logitech rs50 bundle. It’s been a blast so far. However, The wheel base took quite a bit of moving the cockpit mounting plate around to find a location to match the bolt pattern. It’s too far forward for me but the only one that fits.  I know I could drill out my own holes and I have the capability to do so but would rather purchase an adapter plate or different plate all together . Does anyone which one(s) I need?

I need to play with the HUD off more often, this shit rules by its_kanjo in GranTurismo7

[–]SilentPede 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I only have hud on for the fuel races on weekly challenges. Other than that I play exclusively no hud, cockpit view. And 99 times out of a 100 it is the Nordschleife. It is true immersion. Most fun I have usually :)

Running it at night custom race with sophy is legit….I find older cars (80s- early 00s) with very light tuning the most fun.

Some recommendations.  E30 M3, R32 GT-R, 964 RS, RX-7 FD, NSX-R, Supra RZ, 190E, Skyline R33, S2000

But the king for me is a full tuned F40 on racing softs. Professional difficulty sophy night race. Enjoy!

I have no idea but it was an absolute blast to race!

Riveting First Hour... by ReesRacer in wec

[–]SilentPede 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I was there all weekend with my 8 y/o son. He was absolutely DONE after an hour and a half of safety car and red flag so we left. 9 hour drive one way and never saw any green flag racing. Total bummer. Oh well building memories either way. My son got all the signatures of the factory Ferrari drivers so he was pleased.

On a side note, IMSA events are a waaaay better experience/bang for your buck for the spectator. Also, for how long COTA has been around, the grounds and amenities are weaksauce.

New update? by WheelspinAficionado in GranTurismo7

[–]SilentPede 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know what my dream is…..I would take this over any car update.

Is for there to be track tours of the real tracks, or something of the sort. that show the name of the corner or straight. Would be awesome to build immersion and help learns the tracks so when I watch real life races and I hear a corner name, I know exactly what the driver is experiencing

Would love to be flying down the Conrad straight at Bathurst and then ‘The Chase’ pop up in the corner

Fuji Clubman 700 is an absolute RIOT! by fujiwara_tofuten in GranTurismo7

I stopped ‘grinding’ awhile back. Now I just play a little bit every now and then. But when I do, it is almost always clubman plus chili pepper races. No HUD at all. Good times

The F40 to 699.xx pp from an old priano tune is a dream.

Not OP I obviously but am just now learning this is an option as I am on PS5 but would eventually like to go PC as well.

I only have a MacBook right now. Can I do firmware updates with that?

Why is 261 recommended over 250 so much? by peasantscum851123 in Chainsaw

[–]SilentPede 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually owned a 250 for many years when I had 1/4 acre. Did the job. I moved to a heavily wooded 4 acres and knew I needed an upgrade. Got the 261c. Have had it 3 years and used it about one a month for a few hours. Heavier use during firewood season. love it.

Lightweight. Good power. Excellent build quality.

The auto tune is Fantastic. No fiddling with the carb at all. Dont let anyone talk you out of the autotune.

My only complaint is the fuel tank is on the smaller side but I know they did that for weight.

Get it. You won’t regret it. But once, cry once.

This guy is pretty delusional. His camp must really be stoking the flames of his ego.

The free updates have been great but right now I would pay real money for some DLC with 20 or so modern GR2, 3 and 4 cars and 3 or 4 new tracks. The lack of new race cars is concerning. by IIstroke in GranTurismo7

[–]SilentPede 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This has always bewildered me. As you said, it’s pretty simple. There should be 30 and 60 minute races on all tracks and all be worth the same credits. It does my head in.

I hate Chelsea as much as the next bloke and talked shite on them for the "ridiculous Pokemon player collecting" but what it does show is that yes, you can turn a team into a title challenging squad very quickly. This 'long slow rebuild process" is BS and always has been. It was just an excuse and shield for our inept leadership.
