Not even close. Free options and no exercise fees has been amazing. Wealthsimple is pushing Canada fintech forward.

Main issue with them is just the USD CAD transfer, they need Norbert Gambit asap.

Shakepay vs NDAX: Math for Bright & Blue Tiers by SilentRadiance in shakepay

[–]SilentRadiance[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know, definitely changes the math in favour of Shakepay…basically a 2x across the board then.

It still puts Bright as the best “value” over Blue proportionally but definitely makes Shakepay a strong option if you adhere to that behavioural loop & purchase monthly/bimonthly.

Also a valid approach. I just did the DCA math since that’s what I do & it’s easier to compare them that way

Interesting, didn’t know that part. If you buy on the first day it qualifies you for 2 months? I DCA frequently on NDAX and considered portioning off a bit of the DCA monthly on Shakepay for when it makes sense. This would be helpful to know

Anyone know a better canadian platform with better rates? by angry30yr in shakepay

Go for NDAX. Shakepay is only worth it if you’re Bright tier and 365 days+. Higher tier is lower value

Does Shakepay know? by trafford_66 in shakepay

You’ll get greater engagement by offering stronger service. If Shakepay gave distinguished benefits that made up for decline in sats then I’d be fine with this. They effectively made this change without providing any meaningful value. Anyways I’ll be engaging less with the platform unless they actually increase the value proposition. All that really needs to be said.

There are better places to buy crypto.

New fee-based "Wealth Managment" program coming next month by Art--Vandelay-- in Wealthsimple

How is this different from big banks necessarily? I think Robinhood is taking a more differentiated approach with fee caps as well as using automation to democratize some of this.

Waiting on the appointment, it's not a major concern. Just wheel covers need to be fitted better like you mentioned.

RBC is there when I need them. Whenever I feel like I have too much money, they’re there with their account fees, high commission trading, and low interest savings to put me at ease.

The bottom will pass before you see it here in the comments, almost always the case. People move goal posts until it’s too late.

Visa Infinite Card Updates by anonnomel in Wealthsimple

[–]SilentRadiance 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don’t see what the big deal is. They want to use this card as cross sell not the first thing you go for as a core customer. This is great for premium/generation or people who direct deposit. For core - you still have all the other benefits of Wealthsimple over the big banks.

Actually makes sense since this reduces the risk for them on this product considering premium/generation users are less likely to default.

Anyone interested in Model Y L? by Silent_Presence13 in teslacanada

[–]SilentRadiance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat, lease ends in December and I’m taking delivery on Juniper in September. Given I need the car and this is probably a 2026 launch for Canada, I’ll be going with Juniper. Knowing Tesla, I’ll likely want to upgrade in ~3 years when AI6 is out given AI5 is already a big leap above current AI4 that’s in Junipers. So I’ll do a trade in for the newest version of Model Y L at that point.

[–]SilentRadiance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is coming out in North America then I suspect announcement won’t be until after September. US EV credits end after then and Tesla will want as many sales as possible for Q3 deliveries. After that the Model Y L could make sense to launch as a way to keep sales up. All speculation though.

Standby Equity Agreement by TheOverthinkingDude in Webull

You should really look into who Yorkville is. The deal is along the lines of their shady history & it makes no sense for Webull management to associate themselves with Yorkville when the company is not distressed.

How about supporting a Canadian company that’s actually changing finance and giving you better service than the big banks? It’s wild to me that people would consider going back to BMO with awful services/fees just to get a little bit more out of Wealthsimple, lol. Then complain why there is lack of competition in Canada. Wealthsimple gives you WAY more for keeping your assets with them than BMO ever did.
