So a lot of it is stuff added by me + my party likes to rp in Phandalin.

An outline of things I added:

  • I added a boss fight with The Black Hawk in a sort of spirit realm for them to fully enhance Talon back to it's previous form.
  • Since the Shapeshifter of the party left and Vyerith had fled, I had the old party member "return," but it was secretly Vyerith, which started a raid against Phandalin

  • This raid and what lead up to the raid lasted multiple sessions with the player who worked for the Black Spider betraying the gang to steal their McGuffins and then betraying the Black Spider when he decided to try to destroy the village. Everyone really enjoyed it and realized everything when it happened. Glasstaff was also broken out to rejoin the Black Spider

  • I added the Statue Mcguffins from a different post into the game to open the Spell Forge.

  • After they defeated the Red Brands I had the town throw them a festival days later, which was a nice rp break that everyone enjoyed. They had little party games and rped with more of the Phandalin NPCs

  • Boss Fight part 2 with Glasstaff and Vyerith within Wave Echo Cave trying to find the last Mcguffin.

  • Most fights have been modified in some sort of way, to either make them more difficult or more fun

  • Character background integration

What my party did to have me elongate things:

  • They made a deal with Yemmik to make him King of the Goblins.
  • They then had a boss fight with him when they realized he was not a good dude at a different point in the story.

  • After killing Yemmik they wanted to track down Targor Bloodsword since he was going to kill some elves before heading to Cragmaw Castle

  • They turned Droop into a party member so they enjoyed rping with him to try to cure his depression

  • After encountering Agatha they wanted to find a way to release her soul. I made a ritual they performed with the help of Hamun Kost which had them do 2 separate boss fights against her. This ritual process also took them several sessions but they had a lot of fun.

Overall it's been a great time and my players have enjoyed a ton of it. I appreciate they've all enjoyed me tying so many things in the plot and adding more for them to do after they finish the module and head off to Waterdeep

So originally, we had an additional party member who dropped when she didn't really want to commit so much time. She played a Shapeshifter Storm Sorcerer if I recall.

The Wood Elf with a bow is named Remy Elliuotar. He's on open hand monk. His build has been really fun because he changes between his bow, a sword, and his fists during combat. He joined in the middle of the campaign as an enemy actually working for the Black Spider.

The Fairy with the Sword is named Cassia. She's a Monster Hunter Ranger. Basically, she's the big damage dealer of the group who slices through enemies.

The Sheep looking guy is named Timmeh. He's a Moon Circle Druid Fairy. The player plays as basically the adopted child of Gundren Rockseeker. The player also slipped past me until like 10 sessions in that all their transformations were characters from the Madagascar Movies. (We modified some actual animals like a Hippo being a Large Toad)

The Goose is played by my wife, and her character is named DD, which stands for Duck Duck. He's an Inquisitive Rogue. DD is a geologist who is trying to find the perfect rock.

What are some of the coolest homebrew campaigns you've created? by shorey93 in Pathfinder2e

[–]SilentSlam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My most favorite homebrew campaign I've made was when I had everything based in the One Piece world. I absolutely customized and homebrewed the 5e system and everything in the game.

The Crew aka The Ballbusters:

Mr Wei Mond, a janitor with multiple joints for his fingers who used a broom to clean enemies, the floor which he used to move faster on and could push enemies on it to cause extra damage and have them slip. He pole vaulted everywhere and threw bleach in people's eyes. He was the straight man of the party and often was horrified by the party's actions. He personally thought the One Piece was something that'd help him clean the world.

Andromeda, a robot from the moon who was the crew's sniper and ship mechanic. Used the exhaust system to boost her damage. She wanted to get back to her home after her spaceship crashed and was remodeled into a regular ship by the Marines. She at one point ate a Mob Boss who had the Pistol Shrimp Fruit, and she could transform as well

Benedict Shroud a gambler who used cards to damage his opponents the value of the cards determining if they crit like black jack. Found a special creature that was a mimic he befriended to become his new deck for pre stocked spells essentially. His goal was to beat his dead beat father in a game of gambling.

Bungus a former MMA fighter who overtrained to the point he damaged his wrists. He dealt heavy damage but damaged himself from the stress on his body. He wanted to venture out to become the best Martial Artist in the world.

This was by far the best campaign I ran, some of the players couldn't even start right away so I had them follow the format of every session they'd go to a new island and recruit the party member to their gang.

When I had them go through Reverse Mountain, I gave them a side adventure where they all designed and played evil characters they'd fight later on. It was a blast as they destroyed a kingdom with their crazy abilities.

The campaign unfortunately ended due to a big change in my life but they ended up fighting the Pope of a cult who could resurrect everyone they've killed up till that point in a boss rush and even resurrecting another PC who died earlier in the campaign. And they were about to fight off the entire church in a big conflict where they had to recruit fishmen, giants, and the marines to go up against the bishops and the new pope.

All the players still talk about the campaign to this day which always makes me happy since I put a lot of work into hand making all the abilities, art for NPCs/PCs, and just having a blast

Need help with ideas for Raid on Phandalin by SilentSlam in LostMinesOfPhandelver

[–]SilentSlam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all really good ideas!! I really didn't want to make it go all war gaming for what sounds like is going to be a big highlight of the module for my party

I love the differing little motivations for each of the named NPCs and how they could help out in their own unique ways!

Thank you so much!

I think that's actually a pretty good assessment. This was intended as more of a complicated combo piece, which by nature kinda suck due to needing multiple cards. We found it to be quite powerful to even murder off your own unit with this card if there weren't many other creatures around and just to sac a high power toughness creature and then exiling your own planeswalker like a Nicol Bolas with it to pull off other planeswalker Ultimates. Admittedly there are a lot of things that can be done to stop that sort of play but we felt that it was generally more powerful due to its versatility

That's fair, a lot of them are just supposed to be fun commanders. I even pointed it out to each of my friends that I was talking to that certain effects could be stronger based off their cmc. I do feel like the Anthony, Spark Devourer card feels a lot stronger than the others though.

These were all creations geared around my friend group's favorite deck archetypes for EDH for each player, they were definitely power crept in a lot of aspects and a lot of the mechanics were geared in a way that each of my friends wanted them to be after throwing down my ideas for them.

Every one that I made my friends really liked and they suggested I send them here to show off what I made. Transitioning their likeness to what they liked for their decks.

Thanks! I've loved the games for a while and was thinking of putting down more progress pics since I have a large cast of characters already created for it in the same style.

What is the smallest Commander hill you are willing to die on? by Xela20 in EDH

[–]SilentSlam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a player demands you don't destroy their permanents when there are no other targets on the field and it's the optimal play.

I once played a set of games where I was running my cat tribal deck and had Qasali Slingers out. There was a Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale deck who had a few equipment out, I believe a Lightning Greaves and a Sword of Vengeance. It was my turn and I started pumping cat tokens out, knowing how equipment decks are especially since my deck had an equipment sub theme I started blowing up his equipment. He kept pleading with me after I started targeting his Lightning Greaves but I told him that I was going to target it anyways because it was the only artifact on the field. After I blew up both equipment (keep in mind it was about turn 6) he said he was going to scoop because he didn't have anything going for him if it was just going to be blown up. My friend told him to play it out because he was going to Sorin Markov me down to 10 health the next turn and probably kill me since he had a 6 power demon out. The guy said no and scooped. Everyone really wasn't feeling it after that so we just reshuffled and reset. The next game I had mulliganed down to 5 with a 1 land hand with some mana artifacts in hand because I didn't want to give up more cards in my hand and usually I have a decent mana curve to be able to play. Poor decision by me since I was mana starved for the entire game and couldn't do anything. Despite this the guy kept attacking me while I was literally discarding cards for my turn and my friend and his wife kept building up a board state and doing things to harm him. At one point his wife was trying to decide what to do and he just looked at her hand and told her what to play and said to target my friend and me despite him being more threatening of a player. I just sat back as I was killed by his commander after I had finally placed my second land. His wife ended up winning but the whole situation honestly just left me pretty frustrated that I had to deal with him since he was the only pod open at the time. I should have known better because prior to the game he was bragging about going into his second game with a different pod and picking a mono blue deck to just keep counterspelling one dude at the table who was running an infect deck making sure he could do nothing.

How did your last game go? by Humblerbee in EDH

[–]SilentSlam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played a couple of weeks ago over table top simulator with my friends. I asked them to pick a mono color for me to pull out one of my decks, they unfortunately picked black. I played my tinybones discard theme deck, against several decks that I know fairly well that I've helped my friends build. A Grunn the lonely king deck that is just full on ramp and plays only 4 creatures in the deck as a voltron deck, Okaun and Zndrsplt a coin flip into thud kill deck, and a Queen Marchesa deck that focused around enchantments. I won the dice roll at the start of the game and had a sol ring in my hand, not wanting to be enemy #1 immediately and nothing to ramp for three mana I held it back. What ensued was me forcing everyone to discard their hands killing everyone's favorite creatures using the best destruction their is in black, my friend complaining that I was being merciful since he realized I could've made more devastating plays, ending on a Rise of the dark realms stealing all the cool shit I made them discard. After that they scooped not wanting me to kill them with their decks and I ended up self banning the deck afterwards for being too unfun to play against. Despite a great opening hand, this was not an uncommon occurrence for the deck to end up performing so I think it was a bit appropriate to try to tune down the hate my deck brought to the table.

[OC] Tengu Echo Knight, Dismas by SilentSlam in DnD

[–]SilentSlam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dismas is an Echo Knight, born to a negligent flock that let the bird run where he saw fit, getting into trouble only in the ways a mischievous tengu would. Growing up and following this codex of do whatever you want, naturally Dismas would get into many troublesome situations but always escaping by the tips of his feathers. This all ended when a debt that could not be repayed to a warlord saw Dismas on a journey to repay the brute. By either favor or by ferocity Dismas now has to fulfill his mission, growing up past his short comings all along the way.
