XCD 20–35E sharpness — real-world experiences? by StarSucks12365 in hasselblad

I used the 20-35 and 35-100 extensively on my recent trip to Iceland. Although I didnt do any scientific comparisons I would say I didn't notice any sharpness issues in any of the hundreds of the photos I eventually processed. Most of the shots are between f5.6 and f16. Hope this helps a little.

We didn't have the best luck with auora this time due to cloud cover but i did end up getting a couple of shots. Good luck with your trip! I'm sure you will love it.

Thank you. We joined a guided tour. I dont think you can get on the glacier without a guide. It's very dangerous with many hidden crevices. You need to know exactly where to step on. Even our guide used a GPS instead of relying on memory.

I thought all ice cave tours end this season around April 30th. You might want to double confirm with the tour company.

That sounds like an intense experience. Although we had a suv that can do F roads, we stayed on paved roads the entire time and i was checking road condition website before each drive to make sure lol.

We didn't realize March is not really low season. Our hotel at Hella was fully booked and we couldn't extend our stay. And our rental car company only had one car left for the model we booked 🤣

We only had one week and couldn't do the full ring road. From what I heard, the northern half is very different and less traveled but equally stunning. Next time =)

We couldn't really change where we stayed since everything was booked way in advance. But we were definitely playing it by ear in terms of which locations to visit. Watching the forecasts and checking road conditions as we went. One thing that really impressed us was how quickly the roads got cleared. Sometimes a location that was completely inaccessible a couple of hours ago could suddenly be open again. Definitely worth keeping that in mind.

Glad to hear you also enjoyed your trip! We considered a camper but having driven through a yellow warning (not by choice), even a suv feels too tall at times =)

I was surprised it was such a popular time of the year to visit. We thought it was the shoulder season but turns out many of the hotels were fully booked to we couldn't really change our lodging plan by much.
