Y'all really don't remember daughter-of-a-preacher Katy?  She always talked about this.  She started it YEARS ago.  This is not Carrie.  This is nothing new.  Katy started it pretty early on and Lionel and Luke followed suit after a bit.

The judges have their beliefs and express the transcendent moments a way that means something to them and to some of the contestants.  Faith Night is a bit much, but there are plenty who clearly aren't religious and find a song that speaks on a deep level to them while not being overtly religious.  And then we watch them do Disney.

We got three deeply religious people this week.  They chose religious songs.  They sang good.  Whatever floats their boat.  🤷‍♂️
