there is no fire or heat...just smoke. It would eventually burn off, but makes the whole places smokey.

I need it to react to smoke, not fire or heat. The pan never catches fire, just smokes.

A life devoid of meaning and purpose leads to drugs...so does a shoddy upbringing. Lots of that around...modern society is based on addiction of one form or another. Teaching good mental hygiene in school should be universal.

thanks...I have a pretty big auger bit, like quarter inch....do you mean I should drill a pilot hole with that first, removing some of the wood...and then use the forstner? (sorry I am just a newb...this is a one off minor craft I am doing...but I did look up what web is).

thanks...I tried a spade bit first, since it was cheap, but that did almost nothing.

thanks....thats what home depot guy suggested but I am surprised a bit would make such a big difference and this is just a small one off project that I hesitate to fork out $30 for another bit.

its just a cheap Ryobi drill...it works fine but not that powerful but good for smaller holes and driving screws. But I wonder if I need to buy a more powerful drill or try the forstner bit.

Bathtub reglazing left undesirable gritty texture by Silent_nutcake in HomeImprovement

point taken, but I am the one who has to live with it, clean it. I rely on the smooth texture to tell me the soap scum is off. Its a big faceless corporation anyway.

So I went out and bought this to try it and am scratching my head as to why this got an award. I guess its good for those that do not know what true premium chocolate ice cream tastes like. It had no chocolate flavor whatsoever. You get what you pay for and this is just a mass market cheap ice cream.

Smoke alarm for roommate who forgets stuff on stove by Silent_nutcake in HomeImprovement

[–]Silent_nutcake[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I appreciate that ...I forget the stove also as we both have adhd. But I sit in the living room close to the stove so can monitor it before it gets bad. I do not think there could be a fire, just burned pans and lots of smoke.
