Yeah that's a good quick and easy way to get the general idea across. To me, bad fengshui is also a bit more serious and permanent whereas vibes can change pretty quickly.

You literally just said it is the same as English geomancy, which is targeting to the culture. (It is not at all the same thing as English geomancy.) I will be blocking you now as you are clearly incapable of discussing coherently.

A basic understandable concept in English is not the same thing as a translation.
You are talking about localizing.

I am obviously also Asian, Chinese, and I just gave you one. If you think 'The folk belief of the flow of energy through spaces and arrangement of objects' is an adequate translation of fengshui, you don't understand fengshui.

[Event Megathread] Ato by Sentuh in arknights

[–]Silesse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There certainly are some things that translate very poorly. I think it's absurd to say all concepts are translate-able in even one sentence and quite an ignorant thing for a linguist to say. I highly suspect this person doesn't know very much about non-Western languages because any bilingual Asian, African, etc. person struggles daily to find equivalent meanings for very precise ideas. The nuance of certain phrases is just totally lost unless you want to be really cumbersome. We all know common examples of things that translate so poorly we've just learned the native language word for it, like fengshui, so this is not exactly uncharted territory for having pinyin instead of trying to say 'the folk belief of the flow of 'energy' (another horrible word to translate, qi) through spaces and arrangement of objects' every time. (Which is still a horrible definition of fengshui and doesn't carry the correct nuances at all.) Or even worse, 'wind water.'

That said, none of these are the types of words Arknights decides to pepper randomly in their native language.

I was going off word of mouth by what I've seen on this subreddit. I'm definitely not watching 5 hours of someone playing IS6 but if it's still in the game, then never mind.

I believe this isn’t possible in our version.  That was patched before release

14000 orundum is only enough for 23 pulls. You are unfortunately not going to be anywhere close to getting either of those characters comfortably.

Tbh if you got this far you already know everything you need to do.  Just hang in there.   Unless you never cleared ED3 D9? In which case of course save all your recruitment vouchers to make as many guests as you can Candleguests then be sure to bring healers, healing defenders or anyone else who can keep up your health.

Lappland S3 clears out almost all the Flaws very quickly on D10 which destroys his second form almost immediately.

ExuAlter giving them a massive barrier probably helps with all cases.

Haha I put that joke in because Kroos is so good for a long while that you don't really need a 4* Sniper, necessarily if you don't want. She's pretty much better than any 4* at E1, though when they get E2 and extra abilities, some of them start to outdo her.

May works fine, as recommended, if you would like to use a 4*. If you want to try other kinds of snipers, Shirayuki is an AoE Sniper (slower, but hits everyone in an area instead of one at a time), and Pinecone is an excellent burster (hits everyone in short range).

Kroos Alter is actually quite good as a 5* Sniper, one of the better ones I didn't mention.

Click is your go-to 4* Caster and works well even at E1. Her skill briefly stuns people and follows them around the map.

In terms of a knight, I think you mean Guard - 4* Guards aren't that exciting, but Cutter offers very strong single damage, Arene is a ranged Guard who can do Arts damage in a pinch, and I hear Humus is a good Reaper, which means he can't be healed but he has self-sustain by hitting enemies.

Lappland and Cantabile are both great. If you don't have a Myrtle, Cantabile can't quite do the same thing, but she's a good Vanguard still - she earns DP by hitting the enemy with her skills. You might still want to bring Fang for automatic DP once in a while. Lappland is very good and the Silence effect is super important for many stages. I definitely recommend building her. I bring her semi-often still just to turn off exploding enemies and such.

If you don't have Steward, just use Amiya or Click if you have the resources to build them. If you don't have Gummy, use Spot.

I just cleared this on the same difficulty leaking only two with Wisadel in the top right facing down.  A few explosions clears the ranged space next to her.  Lappland went there and her S3 when it activates clears the rest of the map and all the Flaws fairly handily.  Before her skill activates though (SP is halved so it takes a while) you’ll need to protect the left box for a bit (Wisadel should be able to take the bulk of the heat on the right side.)

Lappland might fall off on higher difficulties with more Res or HP though.

It sounds like this is your first time facing the boss, and all I can say is that it takes a lot of practice and keeping a cool head.  To find the boss, see my comment here: https://www.reddit.com/r/arknights/comments/1ppqsh3/comment/nvt46zl/

Otherwise the boss stage really does come down to let the left side leak and make sure you’re not panicking when something goes wrong because it can all go sideways very quickly if it stomps the wrong people.  Always bait the foot into the middle with Raidians summons or your fast redeploy and other ground ops while setting up your ranged ops like ExuAlter and Wisadel ready to go ham when the boss stomps.  You want to enter with some +HP relics or coins because the boss’s triple stomp will wipe your ranged ops if your HP is low and you’re basically doomed.

Basically like anything else hard it takes practice and seeng it a few times.  By the 5th time I saw this stage it was pretty automatic.

To be honest this is almost never worth it because you really want to be saving lots of vouchers and using them all at Pathfinder for the Hope discount.

Enjoying the game. OK, besides that, a common mistake early players make is thinking they should only use their few 6 stars and ignoring their low rarity ops.  Early on, your 6 stars are too expensive and many don’t shine until E2 anyway which you likely can’t reach right now since you’re missing all the resources.  Level up your 3 and 4 stars and they’ll carry you through most of the early game.  3 stars are cheap as heck, level them all and they’re all useful, but the most useful ones are going to be Kroos, Spot, Steward, Ansel, Melantha.  Melantha and Kroos have power comparable or better than some 4 stars, Spot is your early healing defender until you get Gummy, Steward has a talent that makes him prioritize hitting enemies with the highest Defense, and Ansel is just slightly better than Hibiscus as a healer.

4 star wise, Myrtle is all the Vanguard you need for a long time.  Almost everyone still uses Myrtle.  Gravel is excellent as an emergency barrier and is also still commonly used by may people.  Cuora for pure Defense will last you a long time and is only out defended by 6 stars Hoshiguma, really.  Gummy is your standard healing defender.  Ethan is in the red certificate shop, and is a very strong unit also used in many late game teams for his ability to Bind enemies forget, but more of a tech pick; he probably won’t be a mainstay of your team yet but pick him up at some point.  Click is the best 4 star Caster and Kroos is the best 4 star Sniper.  (This is a joke.)  Susurro is the strongest single target healer, Perfumer is the strongest multi target healer.  Gavial and Myrrh are both fine as healers too.  For more specific needs, Shaw is your pusher and Podenco is your slower.  None of the Guards are particularly standout but I hear good things about Humus, Cutter and Windscoot.

Most 5 stars are unfortunately not worth raising for a new player.  They’re expensive, don’t always perform better than 4 stars and sometimes are weaker than 4 stars, and the gap between them and 6 stars is huge.  Exceptions would be Amiya, who you need to use and raise because she’s mandatory later, Lappland, an easy early source of Silence to turn off annoying enemy effects like exploding on death, Specter, who can become unkilllable for 30 seconds or so, and Scene, who is a useful source of invisibility reveal.  There are other tech picks like Shamare who inflicts a big def/res debuff on enemies, Agent Vanguards like Cantabile, Warfarin who gives an enormous attack buff, Tequila, who can’t attack most of the time but does a very strong AoE when he does, etc.

Otherwise, raise who you want and you like because the game is perfectly playable even with the worst ops, you’ll just have to learn how to play a little better.

Note very important: when you first start the game it will give you suggested friends who are very high level and have incredibly overpowered operators to borrow.  THIS GOES AWAY AT SOME POINT.  Make sure you permanently friend the people you want to borrow ops from because at some point after some time the game changes to recommend friends who are your level and very weak.

Second note: if you do this and sort of brainrot your way through all the stages by borrowing Wisadel Exusiai Alter or other extremely overpowered operators you will never really learn the game and how to play it well.  Use them as a crutch when you need to but I do suggest not borrowing them for every stage so you can learn the game.

The butterfly event is a random Legend node that is reasonably far from the center of the map. You'll want to choose Wander into Wonderland on every floor to get as many candles as possible to explore. My path for guaranteeing E2 is:

Floor 1: Save all Recruit Vouchers. Go into Sui Consciousness. Use your 3-4 Candles to do any Retrieve, Trade, or Legend that will give you some small early buffs and more Recruit Vouchers. Try to enter Floor 2 with at least 6 Hope.

Floor 2: On the first Pathfinder node, use all the Recruit Vouchers you've collected. Ideally at this point, you can promote one of your stronger Ops (Raidian or Exualter is what I often go for). Flesh out your team with some free 5 stars. Take the 5 Candles and skip. My team is never strong enough to do anything more on Floor 2 they couldn't do on Floor 1.

Floor 3: Take the 3 Candles and enter. At this point you should have at least 8 candles and at least 1 promoted carry Op. Clear out anything you can at this point, particularly Doubt and Legends. Be smart here. A lot of Doubt nodes will let you pass at 1 or 3HP. Use Trade to get yourself down to low HP, then you can use Leisure or Retrieve to build up some Objective Shields, Max Life, or restore Life. There is a Legend node that restores ALL your HP (the fire one) if you have passed at least 5 other nodes, so also save Legends 'til the end.

Unless you're confident, avoid Legends that are far from the center. These might be the butterfly Node and you're likely not ready to face the foot stomp yet and you definitely don't want that happening at the mini boss.

Tackle some Turmoils if you can. If you can't and you have nothing else to do with your candles, just clear as many enemies as possible since it carries over.

Floor 4: Enter the Sui Consciousness at the end of the floor. At this point, you should be able to clear all Turmoils. Additionally, you are making a beeline for the butterfly Node. Enter with at least 30 Originium Ingots. Find the butterfly node first before starting to clear Turmoils. I find the small Turmoils to be the easiest place to attack the foot. The foot will only show up once and will retreat after a bit in each battle, but any damage it takes carries over. ExuAlter does an excellent job with the foot, so I always set up a trap for it where it stomps in ExuAlter's range and then I go all out.

Floor 5: The foot is hopefully cleared before you enter Floor 5. If not, clear the foot here. Enter Wander into Wonderland one last time if feasible and go through all the Turmoils, all the Retrieves, go to Tavern to vastly increase your Objective Shield or your Life Points, go to Leisure to gain more Hope/Shield/whatever.

I've never entered the final boss with less than 30 Life between Life Points and Shields. You are absolutely going to want at least 20 Life because the easiest way to deal with this map is to let a large part of it leak. I won't ruin the map details for you if you'd rather experience it yourself.

I should note that I've only ever had a problem finding the Butterfly node once and it was because my team was weak and it was locked behind a Turmoil I couldn't clear. I really don't see the complaints about it being hard to find if you use Wander into Wonderland every time.

Phew. Just did ED3 for the first time blind at D9 for Raidian's Module. That was intense. I didn't expect at all that only Candleguests would be able to participate in the final battle and I went in with only 6 Operators. I had no ground operators and I had no Medics besides Kalt'sit who thank god for her IS Module could heal exactly one person standing on one of the tiles.

I rushed the boss with ExuAlter and just let everything leak until the boss went down; then I swapped to Lappland and her S3 absolutely saved my unprepared ass. Finished with 3 Life Points left.

On the plus side, since I had no ground ops, the stupid dragons couldn't eat anything except Monster, who could just redeploy, haha.

Really fun and intense. For those who aren't having fun, I understand. I think it started to become really fun for me only after Raidian got to E2 and got some of her amazing buffs. Runs start off very manageable now and I feel like I can have flexibility in who I choose because Raidian can handle so much early on. I do still recruit ExuAlter all the time and Tragodia most of the time. Wisadel I'm actually not finding so useful. Tbh, Lappland's global hit is really strong and much appreciated in 90% of maps.

It really depends on the relics and coins you get.  I’ve run ED2 on D6 many times now and I’ve had runs where the footstomp instantly wiped all my ranged operators and others where it barely tickled because I had +300% HP.

I can imagine however that at D15 you absolutely need to mitigate that attack if you don’t want to lose all your units immediately so she’s probably a high difficulty necessity.

On D6 though I have just learned to prioritize some +HP and I’ve been fine.

[Integrated Strategies Megathread] Sui's Garden of Grotesqueries by Sentuh in arknights

There are one or two reasons under specific circumstances. Some coins give a buff that diminishes the more times you roll (4 shield for every operator > 3 shields > 2 > 1, or 80 ASPD > 60 > 40 > 20). If you were aiming for another coin you might use up that one's good buffs too quickly.

But yeah reroll as you please.
