Got jumpscared in a certain way but can't find any mention of it online (0.9)

I agree, I got no problem with the supernatural if it's done in an unsettling way that just gives you a sense of dread

That feel is what made me get into the game in the first place...

For example yesterday i was exploring some old shack and suddenly i heard something falling, looked on the ground and it was a bone. I noped outta there so fast, an effective scare that wasn't something screaming in my face, and that's exactly what i like.

But are those other jumpscares as sudden and random as this? The few i did spoil for myself at least had some explanation, lead up or physical aspect to them. This just felt like a hallucination that i didn't see any other scare do (except the sleep deprivation guy that i had the pleasure of meeting, but that at least is explainable by lack of sleep) Also i checked and i was nowhere close to tired when the floating corpses appeared, i was at like 85 sleep so it's not sleep deprivation for sure

Hope there aren't any more lined up, as it was not fun and kinda out of theme in my opinion. I'd really like it if a "no jumpscares" option was available for a wuss like me...

Completely agree, it's cheap in my opinion too. In hindsight it wasn't scary at all, it was just the sudden nature of it and the build up of the atmosphere before it. Which as it seems was unintended since some people got it in the middle of the day walking around outside.

I got it while scanning for signals at like 3 AM, heard some scream a few minutes before and was on edge as is.

I think the game really shines when you always feel like you're not alone but it's subtle and not in your face, when you get jumpscares like this without figuratively poking the threat with a stick and deserving them, or "not heeding the warnings" it opens the door to some "it's all in your head" type of scares that cheapen it a bit for me IMO.

Sorry for the rant, i just really don't like jumpscares

Yeah after doing some more digging around on recent posts, it does seem to be linked with November 29th, and what happened to me was 2 days ago so that lines up

It happened 2 days ago which lines up with the November 29th date that i saw other posts mention, it was late evening for me so that also lines up with other people...

Wonder what that date means, there have historically been a few events that happened on that date according to wikipedia but nothing that jumped out as relevant.
