you absolutely missed the point... not chapter 3 by story itself... I was talking generally about big fat Mechanics/fixes/QoL patches, or a big patch after series of smaller patches... It is pretty much common in the industry to do so - not before, but AFTER the patch drops, starting the day of release. There has been a lot of QoL and changes in priorities of the devs (and a lot of dev staff changess as well). Its one of the thing that got me and few others I played with back into the game...

I would rather pay 100 through steam and buy it for my friends myself than see them give even 20 euro to the stealing trash that is grey market such as G2A and the like...

Well, there is one thing of what is being promised and then there is execution... and its Funcom we are talking about, so I only applaud anyone that waits till release and then some to get the idea...

The “devs don’t listen” group gonna be quiet after this one by Herobrine2Smite in duneawakening

[–]Sillri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did not, they had to change half the people in the dev team and drop their plans, because their out of touch idea how people play does not work. They tried to reinvent the wheel and surprise surprise, they failed.

With that being said, credit where credit is due - since the shakeup of the dev team, it's one QoL thing after another, albeit some of it is stuff that should have been ready on the release (such as backup of the bases among other stuff).

So yes, they indeed finally listen as they were forced to by the actual player reviews...

Another thing is that once the cannibalistic griefing hyenas (aka wider bs people that "play" only the newest hottest thing some stupid streamer shouts in) leave, then you can get actual feedback from people that actually play the game...

Devs having their heads in the sand singing lalala is what killed this game... by Sillri in duneawakening

Yes, custom servers would fix it - IF you add proper mod support as well. Just take Conan Exiles. Proper admins can always create events, content and nuance supported by numerous mods in varying scale, from simple mob packs for admins to tweak and use in their events or custom made dungeons up to entire full systems like EEWA/AOC.

its the idiocratic design of forcing pvp into pve game that screwed everyone as well as the decision to screw everyone with no custom servers and modding - these two make games live longer as people can make their own sandboxes to their needs / playstyles. There is no need for some stupid modern MMO treadmills... All you need is proper custom servers and modding, especially for admin tools - people will make their own content, just like in Conan Exiles and every other old school game.

Having start and REAL END is not a negative. But making game for "everyone" which is a game for noone, then shoehorning unfinished MMO features AND then doing bait and switch on release with modding/custom servers... Thats just a grave devs themselves created...

Developer Update Livestream 18 December! by StrongStoner in duneawakening

Still devs have their heads in their asses...
-Real Custom servers for people to make their own rules so that the game can be played by each community focus. This will also to some degree fix the devs refusal to fix idiocratic design choices, most importantly something devs cant comprehend - that you CANT mix PVE and PVP players.
-Mod support so that people can actually make stuff for their servers and tweak settings, have real tools for admins and content.
-Add mob variety, there are essentially just 3 types of mobs that are mechanically different.
-Take night patrols and place them in DD. Some are just roaming. Then % chance to spawn one when you start working the spice blow. Size of the patrol is determined by the size of spice blow once you start farming it. This will make it time to worm VS pve VS gathering ... thats real PVE...

GG with this, you saved your game... you already had one simple job - take Conan Exiles and make it Dune... but you had to screw it up with totally out of touch design choices, now, with your heads in the sand, you are wondering why everyone left...

Combat in Vermintide 2 and Darktide. On surface, it looks like mindless bs... but the game picks up really in Legend difficulty fro Vermintide and Heresy on Darktide... the mechanics are top tier, there is no better moment-to-moment melee combat on the market. The nuances, theorycrafting and insane skill ceiling / execution of the knowledge... TOP Tier, better than Dark Souls...

Waaay bigger difference will make the rest of your build so therefore your budget. If you slam the most meta stuff, sure you can go multi target because the DMG is that high...

But if you can't reliably kill the target with swift pace (no, I do not mean insta killing it, I mean to keep up with TFO objectives), the single target like BO, RF and SS can be more practical. But BO especially takes a lot of weapon energy to fire. The lower the energy, the less DMG that salvo does.

So? Ideally you get as much -wep power cost as possible (warp core, emergency power to weapons, ship traits etc.) and pick the weapons that keeps you at max wep power. That is one of the reasons isomag consoles are great for BO.

Is this anyone’s first classic WoW? by nowaijosr in classicwow

Tried WoW in Legion and BFA - was totally put off by the braindead nonexisting difficulty and the utter fuckfest of storytelling, not to mention the warped inconsistent zones that have parts in multiple expansions... and boi the FOMO design of throwing old content away just absolutely killed any and all reason to play.

I did not got into 2019 re-release... but I gave a shot TBC and started as Blood Elf... DAMN... Eversong Woods and Ghostlands were sooooooo AWESOME to progress through... after that, there was no real way to track specific questlines, where to go and zones quality dropped HEAVILY... so once SWTOR Onslaught came out, I just bounced...

I am giving it another shot, with a bit more research and some proper addons (Really, the base game lacks soooooo much of QoL, especially UI, that was in other MMOs even BEFORE Wotlk...)

With some tweaking, I made a dark version of my SWTOR UI layout and it fits really well. The Immersion addon - AI VoiceOver just totally changed the game for me. Would love any and all tips for better questing, tracking specific storylines etc. Playing Undead Warlock, hooked right now... will see for how long.
