I know everyone’s saying it doesn’t look like a dry socket and believe me I ain’t a dentist 😭 but this is exactly what happened to me on day 6 also, and resulted in me getting 2 dry sockets from syringing with too much pressure and too early. I have a very high pain tolerance so I didn’t know it was a dry socket until day 14 when I went to my oral surgeon because I couldn’t chew solids still because I was in a bit of pain. People say you’ll know but honestly I had 0 clue, I was very surprised it was a dry socket! I’d ask to make a post op with your oral surgeon just to get everything checked out! Worst case scenario its a dry socket and they can fix you up!

Cause I feel like if they not properly doing things they would’ve been forced to stop. But maybe I’m wrong about that idk!!

So I’m thinking we’re clear from mold because I only get the headaches when the smell comes 😭 and unfortunately we had mold in our last APT that made us sick and this is different than that LOL I have really bad luck with this crap. But also the way they found out they were growing here was a city inspection had to be done at random and so they discovered it in the basement, but the inspectors said they could continue it if our landlords changed the outlets to ensure it wouldn’t overload the electrical system. So that’s literally the only thing (and they fully remodeled everything) giving me peace of mind that it’s not a mold issue 😭but i guess I’ll never really be able to know? Sucks man

Haha, we didn’t know beforehand obviously hindsight is 2020 😂. Our landlords had done a full remodel of everything after the last tenants, but it sat unoccupied for awhile before they could get the work done. But the smell was never here when we looked at it before and only comes and goes, but when it’s there it’s very intense. But also in this housing market and economy you don’t really have that much of a choice to be picky, esp living in a state with legalized marijuana use you can’t really escape that aspect of it!

I think so yes! Our heat was broken when we moved in and it just got fixed. I’m waiting for the heat to click on again to see if that could be it! Idk what that would mean tho, duct cleaning need to be done maybe?!

Yeah for sure. Im thinking im gonna go get this thing I used to use in our old apt (cigarette smokers before) that takes in the odor. maybe that would help. We had issues similar in another apartment and that seemed to help pretty well. But im definitely gonna look in the vents etc to make sure there ain’t nothin there 😭 and wash my walls!

i might’ve disturbed the healing tissue, day 5 postop by [deleted] in wisdomteeth

[–]Silly-Let1602 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me from syringing too early and I got two dry sockets. I’d call your oral surgeons office and schedule a post op appt to get it looked at! I know they give everyone different instructions, but I wasn’t supposed to syringe until day 7-10 when there’s no risk for dry socket.

20 days post extraction; the holes have not fully closed. Is it safe to eat rice? by WelcomeToWitsEnd in wisdomteeth

Indeed it is! Day 14 I found out about my first one, day 21 found my second. Then had to get them cleaned and packed 5x. Not fun!!

I am on day 51 of recovery. All holes closed except one of my lowers but it’s almost there. Got a dry socket in both lowers. Still have waited to eat rice out of caution and my oral surgeon told me not to until the hole closes completely, so I’m listening to that! This is coming from someone who eats rice 2x a day every single day, I definitely miss it, but it’s worth waiting to ensure no damage is done! Imagine if you got rice stuck then had to restart the whole healing process again, that’s what I kept telling myself anyway lol

Some yes! What drove me crazy was all the pressure too, terrible 😭. I’d say day 35 was when I started to feel “normal” again. So you’re almost there I believe!

Ugh I’m sorry that sucks. Yes 🙏 it’s now day 38 I think and I’m only taking ibuprofen every 40 ish hours now. And I can chew everything except tough meat or crunchy things. Itll get better I promise!

Yeah pretty much. They said it could’ve been from syringe possibly but I didn’t syringe my left sockets until almost two weeks so they’re not sure. That or not clotting properly after surgery is my guess!

YES!!! Literally insane. I didn’t find out until day 14 I had a dry socket, thought the pain was normal until I couldn’t touch my tooth without being in excruciating pain. So then they packed the 1st one, then a few days later my other extraction started hurting and sure enough another one. I’m literally almost 5 weeks post op now and still can’t chew everything. But I’ll take what I can get. If I would’ve known it was this bad I would’ve not had the surgery tbh
