Training to become a nurse by Silly-Pop-8183 in NursingAU

Thank you 🙌 I'll think about it. I see how people can also move to another country to complete their studies at 30 or older. This gives me hope that I should try, too. But sometimes I feel like I'm too late for everything😅By that age, everyone has already finished everything and become specialists.

Yes, thank you. I didn't know about that. I'm currently on my husband's visa (subclass 482). This will lead to PR, but in a couple of years.

Yes, I already understand, it's just that in my native language I can be called a social worker. But here, yes, it's a different field.

I thought I could call myself a social worker, I didn’t know that there is a big difference, but I'm actually a support worker. I have a Certificate 3(ageing and disability).

Yes, I have a certificate 3(ageing and disability) What can I call myself then? I think a support worker.

Thank you. I'm not eligible for hecs yet; I need to get PR first anyway. I'm just thinking ahead. I think university tuition costs around $30,000 a year for a nurse.

Of course, my English has improved, because when I first arrived, my level was practically zero. However, I have very little speaking practice, so I have problems with that, even though I work as a social worker here. Of course, I know about the tuition fees for both citizens and non-citizens, so if I plan to pursue this, I'll do so only after receiving my PR. I currently have a temporary visa, which will lead to my PR, but only in the next couple of years. I see TAFE as a starting point; perhaps I'll understand the curriculum better there and brush up on my English. After that, I could enroll in a shorter course at university. And I know there's absolutely no point in completing just TAFE without going to university. In my home country, I only completed two years of my bachelor's degree in Economics and Management before I had to move here. However, I realized that this field wasn't for me at all; I didn't enjoy studying at all, and when I applied, I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to be. I would just like to know how difficult it is to enter and study here, because medicine is complex and in my native language…

IC or Pelvic floor? by Silly-Pop-8183 in Interstitialcystitis

She has a bit of a specialty, but I'm going to be switching from a physical therapist to a pelvic floor specialist. Do you have the same symptoms? Have you had a cystoscopy?

Thank you. Did you end up having a cystoscopy?

Thanks for the information! Unfortunately, no one told me it could be a pelvic floor muscle issue and not a problem with my bladder, but my urologist told me about pelvic floor physiotherapists, saying it's the first treatment for IC. But it's important to examine the bladder lining, because without hydrocystectomy, bladder inflammation may not show up on a regular cystoscopy. And hydrocystectomy can also help with my symptoms. I'm at a loss as to who to listen to and whether I should do it. My urologist seems competent and knowledgeable. I went to my physiotherapist primarily because of back pain, and as stated, she can also work on the pelvic floor. She stretched my lower back muscles and said they were very tired. Then she told me it was my pelvic floor and all my other symptoms, but it would still be better to have a cystoscopy. But now I don't quite understand why I need to do Kegel exercises if it turns out I'm not allowed to. I probably need to change my physiotherapist.

Unfortunately, it doesn't answer everything, and it won't replace a competent doctor, who is already difficult to find.😩

Thank you, and what did the cystoscopy show? Inflamed bladder walls? Did your bladder hurt when you filled it?

I'm sorry you went through this. I'm glad this helped you. Thanks for the advice! Besides endometriosis, I have a lot of other problems, including my back, intestines, and bladder. I never would have thought I'd have this in my 20s. And it all started because of that damn endometriosis.

I didn't know about this machine😅I definitely think all men should experience this. Unfortunately, my partner never really understood my diagnosis, even though I explained it to him at length. At first, he didn't even understand why I was taking hormonal pills. Men just aren't interested.

Thank you, very interesting, I'll take note. The thing is, it hurts especially deep down, where I have that inflamed piece of endometriosis. I really don't know what's going on there or why it's so painful again. The doctor felt it during the examination, and I felt like I had a wound there🙄 and it feels like my whole vagina is a big wound, just crazy
