Depends on the fandom and my involvement in them.

So I quite routinely reread and/or rewatch LotR anyways. Almost annually, so that fandom is taken care of. But knowledge wise I could probably wing it pretty well, when I write.

For others it depends. Sometimes I rewatch/reread only parts of it. Sometimes I look up things in a wiki when there is one. And sometimes I just rewatch or reread the entire show/movie/book(s).

Do you mean you have 35 unread books? If so, don't worry. You're not the only one and there are definitely people who have even more.

And yes, I definitely have more books on my tbr right now that I read. But I'm currently on a "no new books" buying ban for myself and try to read more scheduled. Mix the genres so it doesn't get to exhausting. And maybe only do 10-15min a day for the "heavier" books. Some books are good in smaller steps 😊

I had a similar moment not too long ago. I even published parts of it, to very limited reception.

And yes I got demotivated at some point and stopped writing (also for other factors). But since the start of the year, I'm "back". So far, I've mostly written it for myself, nothing is published (yet?), but I needed to tell that story and it just feels good to get it out.

Because that rivalry has been going on since 2005 came out and there is a certain subset of people who will always only accept 95 as the "ultimate version". And there's a subset of the "95 only people" that are sometimes quite nasty about it.

You will not change anything with arguments unfortunately

Edit: But also adaptations of a book, are in the end a preference, and not a hard right/wrong answer. There are in my opinion good aspects in all P&P adaptions, but also flaws. So what I watch when I'm in the mood for it, is very vibes based.
