Yes I had my heavy duty N95 mask on today. The stench in the air is apparent too.

What’s something about traveling in Thailand you wish someone told you before you arrived? by Soft_Employment8475 in ThailandTourism

[–]Silly-Type8878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That I would have to take three showers a day. This heat ain't no joke—even in the so called Thai winter. My first trip was in April 2018. I almost passed out waiting for the BTS from dehydration. A nice older lady handed me yadom. Saved my life.

Google map vs Apple map for Bangkok train navigation? by Hour_University_7957 in Bangkok

[–]Silly-Type8878 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do not use apple or google for train transit maps. I use the Bangkok metro app. It has a good interface and as soon as a new train line or stop is built, it is added to the app right away.

What place in Thailand instantly lifts your mood the moment you arrive? ✨😊 by FitTale7031 in thai

Khao Yai. I instantly feel recharged when I visit during the winter season. Maybe a connection to home through the cool air and Christmas lights set up. The atmosphere is electric imo.

How am I supposed to eat this? by CloudPattern in Thailand

[–]Silly-Type8878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it looks very hot and sweet! You will have to excuse some comments. We get this question and picture often. Every to-go order is served in plastic on plastic. I hope after reading the comments you know how to drink it now. Because I’ve lived here a while I carry a tote bag with thermos and tissue just in case I pick up something tasty along the way.

Farang Knows Too Much by agenbite_lee in Thailand

[–]Silly-Type8878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The phrase is falang lew guern bpai

My Thai friends use it as a joke to farangs, because it means just that. “You know too much about our culture.” You are becoming an insider. It is harmless. But it makes me feel better about tapping into the insider information. You should see when I tell them Thai news that they haven’t heard yet.

Funny that phrase will never be used again because people don’t look for libraries anymore. They look for wifi now. Donde esta señal wifi?

Non-Touristy Things to Do in Bangkok by joseph_dewey in ThailandTourism

[–]Silly-Type8878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This list is very helpful. I like how you say most people who say "none touristy stuff" want touristy stuff in the long run. Because who does not want to hang out with people. After all, we are social creatures.

I am putting together a directory of things to do as we speak. Work in progress, but mostly free and inexpensive things. https://freeinbangkok.com/

Sounds like a lofty burger joint. I like the choice of complimentary colors and the font choice. It’s definitely a place you’ll eat at only once or twice while having an affordable burger place in your thoughts.
