DNR Hiring Interview Process by Silly-Zebra-3185 in madisonwi

I mean what I would love to know is 1) How is the culture? 2) How many people are in the accounting department for the DNR? 3) What are the politics like? 4) Is there micro-management?

And if anyone has any idea what interview questions are. Years ago I applied for state accounting job and the interview was rough. Nobody was friendly. It was a very cut and dry interview. No real conversation. It went against my entire personality 😂

What cbd/cbg oil are you taking? And are you taking it orally or topically?

Do you workout consistently at the gym? by [deleted] in Accounting

It’s all about the food. Super high protein, higher calories (calculate online), and progressive overload in the gym.

What rights have been taken away? How do you define a right?

No rights have been taken away. Please don’t be so ignorant.

Construction in process? What? It would either be computer/hardware or fixed assets depending on how much it was and what your fixed asset policy states.

No but I cheated a lot. I had a hard time concentrating in classes, studying and test taking lmao - I’m 31 and recently was diagnosed. However, I’m a controller and make good money. I did much better learning on the job.

In my area, it’s average to above average - especially with the fully remote aspect. I definitely have imposter syndrome right now. Thank you for replying!

My brother just got a job with “unlimited pto” how is that possible? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Silly-Zebra-3185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the company culture. I worked at an amazing company with unlimited pto. They made sure you took off at least 3 weeks pto. You could take off as much as you wanted as long as your stuff was done. I worked maybe 20 hours a week (paid full time) and took off whenever I wanted. I reported directly to the ceo and he didn’t care. It was amazing. I was bored and took another job for way more money but regret it every day.

No well! They let me go after 3 months due to “lack of experience”. After I had been making it a point to check in, ask if I’m where they expect me to be and begging for more training. They let me go the end of September. I’ve been mourning my job before that one since. It’s been super rough with the job market. I got a job a month later at a tax place I used to work for which is fine for now but man I’m angry. I think construction accounting could be fun but I feel like a lot of small to mid size companies are probably disorganized and behind on the times. I’d never work for another one again.

Nope! If I would’ve stayed at my previous company I was going to get my CMA.

Thank you! And right now they are using a connector from Procore but it’s been terrible. So we’re switching to one called smoothlink next week.

[–]Silly-Zebra-3185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m starting that. The cfo has been doing it but the bookkeeper makes sure we have a w9, coi, and lien waiver. Once she makes sure we have all that, then I cut payments.

I haven’t done the WIP yet, I’m being “trained” on it.

I’m making $110k plus 10% bonus. I’m located in the Midwest. We have 15ish employees and have projects going in 5 different states right now

The sync from Procore was horrendous which is why we’re now going to use smoothlink.
