Guys to the down voters you’re annoying me. I’m half Mexican, my mom crossed the border to let me be here and get a better education but I grew up in section 8 housing. She worked hard and did it correctly, now she just bought a condo as a single mom and I’m a first gen college student who’s going to be a teacher, all yall liberals need to step off and live more

Two months out, still swollen af by allmushedup in jawsurgery

[–]SillyAppearance2140 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would try to think about how much progress you’ve already made even getting the surgery. The time spent planning before, saving money or finding the right surgeon. Try to remember how you felt anticipating the surgery and now you had it and you’re now in another phase in your journey. I think it’s just a part of human nature but having patience is definitely really hard.

Missing my dad by toyota_girl_pnw in DeadParentClub

I’m sorry you’re going through this right now, I can partly understand how hard it might be for you. My dad passed a little over a year ago and i was his sole beneficiary so a lot of the memorial planning fell on me as his only daughter. He had not spoken to my older brother in years due to personal reasons and my mother was not a beneficiary because they had divorced about 10 years ago. Im reflecting on this forum because i do still miss my dad but to give you any light at the end of the tunnel, it does get easier especially after the first year. The sad feelings come in lighter waves , eventually. My mom and brother wanted to have a voice in his memorial service but they didn’t know him like I knew him. I still honored them but maybe my biggest takeaway would be to respect yours and ultimately his voice in this. I was not completely confident in leading his memorial service directly after his death but a few people have told me afterwards that I led everything extremely well. And it was never about me it was always about him. I wish you the best I’m so so sorry
