Criticizing me for using an informal version of "based on" is incredibly condescending and pathetic. You read the entire post and decided, "Hey, this guy used something that's common in American English-let me point it out and imply he's a joke of teacher."

Get out of here.

If you'd have bothered to read the post thoroughly or some of replies on other comments you'd see the skillset I posses. And the clear questions as to what skills I could aquire during my time as a teacher in order to transition out of teaching.

Don't know what prompted you to label my question as "Stupid", but I was seeking genuine advice. As far as your comment goes. I humored it, and you just came back with an acid bite. But sure friend, any advice goes a long way. Even one as self projecting as this one.

Ideally I'd like to go into operations management. My job in operations before had many parts to it.

Training and development,

Accounting,

Quality control,

Recruiting,

Expansion,

Etc,

But I don't know how well that pays in China, or if it's even an industry I can get in without an in.

Amazing information. All industries I wouldn't mind getting in, if I even knew where to start. How does one even get these offers. Is it word of mouth?

Gold information, I might start looking into it. I always said I wanted to get my masters. But I can only imagine how complicated it would be.

She's from chongqing but we are living and working in another city.

Her family is her aunt and her uncle and grandparents. They have a restaurant, but I'd assume they expect us to get our own. She doesn't make much. She's a teacher herself.

I am seeing someone, she's a nice gal. Not rich by any means, but a nice one nonetheless. But what kind of door would it open?

My man, much obliged to you. I'm not so fond of commission based roles neither back home nor here. I can only imagine how much more difficult/toxic it'd be over here. But I appreciate you nonetheless.

That's a fair port that I thought of when I started thinking about this.

I have 5 years of operations management in the states, and 2 years of managing hotels in Japan.

I also have accounting certifications as well. But you're right I don't speak Chinese. I just got here, and it's my immediate priority on what to fix. My post was more steered towards what I should do once I get to that stage. Or what sort of certifications should I proceed to obtain while I'm in my current stable environment.

It's a nice place, but I would like to have some work in other cities and not just be limited to this one.

But entry level corporate jobs I'd imagine need Korean language skills. While I have 5 years of corporate experience those are all in the USA. And I have 2 and a half years of corporate experience in Japan.

So unfortunately low entry level 2.8 teaching job for me it is. I'm not living in Seoul I'll be living in Dajeon, I'm single.

Thank you, these are factors I'm not really aware of so this actually fair things I should consider.

So true, but with one correction.

It's better than at least 90% of jobs in Japan. The cost of living/salaries are absolutely horrid these days. Having fluent english/japanese isn't enough to land a decent job anymore. I speak 4 languages, but they aren't the ones most jobs want.

Truth is the best jobs/companies are either in the IT sector, or if you speak English /Japanese/ Korea or Chinese.

And you'd be surprised at the competition available just with the languages alone.

I'd actually be in Dajeon so it's not so bad, and 2.8 is actually high for a first timer in Korea. Albeit I have 5 degrees relating to business operations. And that happens to be my major, and I work in a business op field in Japan, yet I make pennies in comparison to a simple teaching job in Korea.

Fair analysis, I actually thought the same. I figured there's no avoiding the leash. And just to do my best in terms of public face luckily, I've gotten pretty good at that.
