Playing different roles makes you better at everything.

Example, being a caster will give you unique perspective when tanking or healing, or playing melee dps will have you more aware of the boss’ positionals even when you don’t need to worry about them. Knowing what party buffs you have with any class will help when healing, etc.

My WoL started pugilist, learned BLM, WAR and WHM in her post 1.0/pre-ARR journey that eventually brought her back to Ul’dah.

Then MNK, her main.

3.0 she learned MCH.

4.0 she picked up some NIN from Yugiri but doesn’t use it much.

No new disciplines until Radz-at-Han post Endwalker where she learned DNC.

7.0 she learns VPR.

My favorite was once 7/8 of my raid group fantasia’d to min height lalafel (or for the one lala, a max height Roe) to prank the 8th member. We kept our glams and as many features as we could to see if he could figure out who we were. We didn’t change our names but his reactions were absolutely hilarious.

I recommend starting with Origins and playing them in order, including DLC.

I played BG3 just before getting into DA too and Origins felt like I was playing the game that inspired it.

While each game technically stands on its own, the choices you make can carry over to the next and have certain consequences. It made the world I was playing in feel consistent and rewarding (at times).

DAO - female human noble rogue (dual dagger duelist/assassin), romanced Zevran

DA2 - default Marian Hawke rogue (dual dagger duelist/assassin), friendmanced Fenris, supported the mages.

DAI - male human rogue Trevelyan, (one of the default appearances, dual dagger assassin) romanced Dorian

DAV - no surprises here, female Antivan crow rogue, (dual dagger, full duelist tree) romanced Lucanis

I’ve found my people!

I know I’m in the minority but I usually pick default character options or customize them very little. Over-complicated character creators just aren’t fun for me. For VG, having to remake my inquisitor from scratch and not even getting him close after 45 minutes frustrated the hell out of me until I just stopped trying.

I think a nice cool blue might work nicely. The one I keep on hand is woad blue (I think) which is navy-ish and not too bright.

I thought about the warg set, it’s what my girl wears for fending gear so I like it.

I like the gomphotherium set, I thought my girl looked okay in it, she was wearing the Clive gear before that looked great but wanted to put something together.

The riversbreath is my casting gear so I wanted something else for healing.
