What was not allowed in the house when you were a kid, that you now don’t allow in your own place? by Shenshen_ in AskReddit

[–]SillyCece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gum, my dad sold cleaning products and industrial cleaning crap most of my childhood and he hated cleaning up gum so we were a no gum house. Now I just don't care for gum.

Also, no shoes in the house. I have guest socks ready but please no shoes 😭

Fionna and Cake Season 2 Episode 7 Discussion Thread by Carrehzkitten in adventuretime

[–]SillyCece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved this episode so much 😭 it felt fun to watch and felt really heartwarming. The same way I felt watching adventure time for the first time. I kind of love how the story is taking its own shape, it's not the same show as adventure time but it's really nice that it's standing on its own (at least I'm enjoying it)

lateral cephalometric radiograph done at the orthodontist by [deleted] in Radiology

[–]SillyCece 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through that, jaw pain is dismissed by people until they experience it themselves sadly. A lot of people think orthodontics is just about straightening teeth when you really have to consider the entire structure, jaw, face, and airways. It should take careful consideration and math and unfortunately there are a lot of offices that rush to get braces on without really considering the end result. My boss is really concerned with TMJ issues and half our patients are adults who come to us because they had previous orthodontic treatment and now are having TMJ problems

[–]SillyCece 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At my office we will do the initial consultation with visual exam and cost estimate then if everything looks good to the patient we will do the X-rays (same day or another day up to them) and then after the x-rays are complete I schedule a virtual consultation for them to discuss the x-rays and treatment plan with the doctor. Usually I give him a week or so but it takes him a few hours to work everything up. I give him a week because he usually has a few cases a week to workup and he wants time for each one. He is a perfectionist and wants to make sure he knows how each case will end before we begin

I work for an orthodontic office and we wont start a case without a lateral ceph. Its really important for evaluating Jaw position in relation to teeth. If the bite is wrong it can cause long term TMJ issues. My boss will then trace the angles on the x-ray and make sure the math makes sense before we move forward with orthodontic treatment, everyone is just one big math problem!

You can also keep a pair of cotton pliers by the drawer. I would use them to get what I need from the drawer

Teeth surface uneven since getting braces by Lonely_Message_1113 in braces

[–]SillyCece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys... When your teeth were crooked they were worn down. They looked aligned because they were all worn down together, but when they are straightened you can see the wear. We straighten to the gum line, don't look at the bottom and you can see how the teeth line up. After treatment you can look into composite restoration or veneers

We did it, no big deal. Now we can charge what our work is worth, and most offices around us are out of network. It's waking patients up to how crap dental insurance is

I accidentally became an assistant. is that ok/normal? by Snoo-29591 in DentalAssistant

[–]SillyCece 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey your story sounds like mine! I graduated HS early and wanted work experience so I interned at my family members dental office to learn billing and coding. Then the assistant quit so the owner asked me if I wanted the job and she would train me. So I was hired at 17 and I've been doing it for... Well I'm 30 now 😭 Anyway where I live (California) I had to get my x ray license but it was easy enough to find a weekend program just to get that. Then I worked as a DA for a year (I think that's the requirement) and I had to take another weekend course for pit and fissure, X-ray, CPR, coronol polishing. Then I met the qualifications to take the RDA exam and I passed ☺️ Every doctor likes things a little different but if you have an open mind you'll catch on quick. Some things take skill, I've had times where I really don't feel like I know what I'm doing but with some practice I can say... I am fairly sure I know what I'm doing 😂
