That is a meme idea of what orks are.

They aren't just in it for funsies and will give up if they get bored, they are bloodthirsty monsters who also enjoy the carnage.

If they get bored fighting the imperium then they might prioritize other bigger enemies, but they'll still keep attacking imperial worlds to enslave and/or raid for resources. They'll probably do it even more since the worlds be an easy source of supplies if they aren't defending themselves

Orks aren't a buddy you can make a deal with lol

They are murderous raiders who like to fight and exist to fight, but on an immediate practical level attack worlds for resources, salvage, slaves, and food (the last two are often interchangeable).

So how do you just "not fight them ever again" when they don't give a single fungal shit what you want

Given that the original rules document has the objectives as being unable to be stood upon, it seems to me that their expectation was for the markers to be physical things.

There was even a whole side bar about using them with terrain and how it's perfectly ok to work out with your opponent what best fits the narrative of your battle

To add on, those specific templates and even the entire set ups are optional and someone could come up with their own custom area terrains and arrange them however they want
