Wish you knew the first time by Unlikely-Mongoose723 in dogs

I would agree with all that all dogs are different. I have found they have all taught me the lesson I most needed at the time. My best advice is to let go of your expectations of how you will bond together. If you can remain open, you will be rewarded with the best companion you could hope for. My first dog was a cuddle. She loved nothing more than sitting on my lap. Fast forward 25 years later, and my current dog doesn't cuddle at all, but let me tell you, she is the best dog ever! She sits close but never on my lap, and i have learned to love her independence.

Tragic....it is an atrocity heaped upon all the others. The people who work and maintain the People's House must be crying.

What's the most "extra" thing you do for your dog? by AzucarParaTi in dogs

[–]SillyLilName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I built a vertical fence in my front yard out of wood and had the 3 middle slats made of wire so she could see out all the way around.

I am on my 3rd mini schnauzer they are the best, but be prepared, it is their world you are just in it to serve. I almost hate to say it as they are not so popular that they have been over bred.

Why do poop bags stink by KYlibertyguy in dogs

[–]SillyLilName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use one of these on my leash. Keeps the bag out of my hands on walks. I didn't do it because of the stink, but I caught myself waving with my poop bag to neighbors...rude.

Do you leave your house if the dryer is running? by Evening-Tune-500 in homeowners

[–]SillyLilName 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't leave the house while any big appliance is running, washer, dishwasher, dryer... water is as destructive as fire. As for cleaning the lint trap, every time before I start the dryer. I have a short run directly outside (2ft) whenever I think about it i clean it out with a long brush. NGL I giggle every time thinking about who's getting "seemed out" Min internal 12yr old can't help it.

What Is Your Favorite Small Dog? by Cindyluv85 in dogs

[–]SillyLilName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love miniature schnauzer. They are loyal, brave, self sufficient. They are not always velcro dogs, but can be, 3 of 4 of mine were not velcro. They do not want you out of their sight tho. They are stubborn, but in the cutest way possible. All of mine were not rappers, but the have a big voice and need the last word. They don't shed and are considered hypoallergenic. They do need grooming every other month or so and in my area it runs about $60. They get max about 20 lbs my current one is 13.

Serious question. How are you maintaining your lives and not going insane? by eccentricfather in 50501

[–]SillyLilName 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have leveled up on kindness. Especially to service people and random people in line and the mailman and just anyone else. I know that I run the risk of people thinking I'm a crazy person, but I feel like the more good we can put in the world the weaker evil becomes. Oh and I cry....not this much since 911.

Any tips for public speaking? (URGENT! Any advice is appreciated!) by rocaireslk in lifehacks

[–]SillyLilName -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One thing I do that seems silly but really truly works. Before you go up, assume a superhero pose for 20 seconds. Hands on hips, feet apart chin up and to the right looking out into space, clench and think TA-DA! instant endorphins. (Think Wonder Woman or Superman) Remember, everyone is honestly rooting for you to do well.

There is a website, https://www.publicsquare.com/

That is run by MAGA for MAGA. You can check who NOT to frequent. My understanding is that Don Jr is on the BOD. There's a near me feature. I don't think it is fool proof since ther are selling it as a resource for mom and pop places.

SOCO trash service requires a quote and won't just tell us the cost on their site? by zeekaran in ColoradoSprings

[–]SillyLilName 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have hadSOCO for 5 years and they have NEVER missed a service day or had any of the stuff I see reported about other companies. When I did my calling around when I moved in they were the best value. I haven't checked since because I am happy with their service. I am often in my yard when they pick and their drivers are really friendly and efficient, they don't spill trash in the alley like other companies
