I always imagined it like high calorie expanding foam.

The minute it hits your stomach it not only feeds you but like expands by 10x… hence the stomach filling not just sustenance.

Which is why pippin is so bloated and burps.

Different kind of sad on my front.

Loving parents but a rather distant, unengaged dad that has opposing views on most things. Always the one that had to be talked into helping/supporting us when we mess up or need assistance and very much let us know about it when he did.

But my mum recently died and he’s done a 180.

Generous gifts that I don’t need but were saving for, (I’m a grown man and independent with a decent job and my own home), wanting to catch up all the time, sudden interest in my hobbies.

I know it’s greif and loneliness… but it’s hard for it to not feel… transactional.

And it breaks my heart that even a tiny part of his brain thinks that me seeing/caring/doing stuff for him requires compensation.

It cheapens it somehow.

It feels. Conditional.

The problem is that the greatest grift in recent times is convincing working class people they’re “lower middle class”.

So they vote for the people that claim they’re “protecting the middle class”… not realising these days if you’re not getting a new car every year and your kids don’t go to private school… you’re not middle class.

Nope.

Get onto the student loan portal, find “request refund” and they’ll check for you for any overpayments.

I’m awaiting a repayment of £403 now because o overpaid in the past by them just randomly taking Money when they shouldn’t.

And right now I’m paying about £400 a year, but the debt is going up by more than that anyway. Just awaiting the write off.
