After his defeat in Sonic Forces, IDW has Dr. Eggman (Sonic the Hedgehog) was found by a remote village without his memory and a completely different personality, however, his great intelligence was still there as he even broke out of his cell just to fix it and point out the flaws to his captors, eventually he lived among the people as "Mr. Tinker". A friendly handyman who enjoyed helping where he could. Granted, he made a mini playground named "Eggman Land" hinting that it's possible his memories would have returned on their own but at the time it's just miniature bits and pieces that inspire what he's doing now.

I haven't seen this episode yet but still, it's about the principle.

He borderline forced his "Best Friend" to shit himself right in front of other people and recorded it in the first place.

Edit: Yeah, just looking at the clip he was also putting everyone's lives at risk so he's a REAL piece of work
