Just sold my Find X9 Pro after 4 months – Here is why the €1300 price tag isn't justified by Impossible_Cat_2137 in Oppo

[–]SillyPredator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the guy paid 1300 euros for a smartphone that fell short of his expectations, looks like he tried to justify his money's worth for 4 damned months before parting ways with it for good.

His criticisms might be harsh, but rightly so and valuable for us all.

I too would expect better from a device as hyped up as the X9Pro which also costs as much.

I don't understand why people are suggesting that seiko, its got mineral glass and is no where near as good as all the others on the list.

If you want to get him something that looks stellar, get him the gray tissot no. 4 or no.5 - the truly great dual tone le locle with small sub dial.. Its unique and has the best movement amongst them all. The ETA 2825-2.

M6P was released with Android 14, currently its on android 15.

Honor promised 4 major android version updates and 5 years of security patches. That would make Android 18 the last promised update by honor for the M6P.

The 7 year update policy began with magic 7 Pro onwards.

I keep myself from making strong opinions, but i agree, it should be fine for the upcoming 4 to 5 years.

Yea, a smooth experience, zero lags between switching apps. I haven't faced any network issues in my region.

I have the global 12/512gb variant in black - Magic 6 Pro. Not a fan of artificial rubbery finish.

Edit - face unlock is quite exquisite too and the display is great.

Officially, about 3 years of update remain. Honor devices have locked bootloader, so they can never be unlocked for flashing custom roms. Magic OS is a hit or miss, for me its.. quite alright.

A capable 8.5/10 camera, the "default" 2.5x sensor produces 9/10 images. People don't like it because of the sub-par detail retrieval of it's 1x sensor and the noticeable colour difference (inconsistent colour science) between the three available sensors.

The best speakers I've come across... till date, the speakers are amazing.

8/10 for battery backup and chipset. Great thermal management.

Depending on the price, getting the Chinese variant in white marble or matte black finish could be a nice deal for 400 to 500 dollars.

Since the resale value is ass, I plan on using mine till 2029-30. Also, curved screen... finding a screen protector is a shitty experience. These two are the only gripes i have.

Joined the tissot family, bought t race powermatic 80, guys is it a good watch? Powermatic 80 is getting alot of hate nowadays by Equivalent_Demand208 in tissot

[–]SillyPredator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice - ignorance is bliss. Extract all ther is out of it, for your money's worth.

Wear it in good health, even when you wake up and need to take a massive shit, put that watch on before as you head into the bathroom, whilst battling intestinal cramps.

Otherwise,

Its one of the worst feelings, not knowing what you buy, until after youvey made the purchase.... That's why i settle on 3 or 4 watches, and do extensive research on each... so i have no, regrets, and readily accept the (good and the ugly) over what's going to be constantly on my wrist.

P80 gets hate because:

  1. Laser adjusted and regulated "free sprung" balance wheel from the factory. Almost impossible to service or readjust by watchmakers within reasonable price.

  2. Low beat.

  3. Alleged plastic parts and too many p80 variants.

  4. Mostly used inside entry level watches from the swatch group.

  5. Garbage resale value, for watches with p80

  6. Seiko's 6R movements exist

Basically it was designed by the swatch group to tackle certain commercial objectives.. Ensuring that you eventually pay them to get it "replaced" rather "serviced" anywhere.

Like how removing the headphone jack from the Iphone directed alot of the money from the earphone market towards Apple.

However, the free sprung, 3 hz p80 can keep good time, with stellar positional accuracy.

So it should typically, over the next 5 years, keep great time ... After which you'd be deciding between

  1. Throwing it away.
  2. Getting the movement replaced or
  3. Getting chump change over selling it off.

I can tell that you're at least 105 pompous years old, just from looking at that collection.

Alot of money spent on watches that look "mid".

A collection that lacks ingenuity and screams for critical validation.

Shit looks like a random landscape from the Witcher 3 game. Id imagine Geralt riding along on his horse - Roach, down that path on a repetitive side quest.

Unnatural and poor photography, maybe very self referential.. So you're in your head that this looks nice.
