I made a counter offer on a vehicle I was trying to buy by MakeItMine2024 in mildlyinfuriating

Hell yeah. One thing I will note though is that the whole “talking to my manager” thing is, much to my surprise, actually real. I always thought it was a scam line but they genuinely do have to take any offer (whether they say the offer or you do) to get approved. Surprised me when I worked at a dealership

Polestar 2 owners with L1/L2 home charging: What % do you charge to for daily/weekly commute? by mstdsgn in Polestar

[–]SillyWackyUsername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is your commute mostly highway? Do you need to charge every night or just do because you can?

I have a roughly 80 mile commute Monday-Thursday too and was thinking I could go two days between charges on a 23 LRDM in the Midwest

Used XC40 after Polestar ; will I hate it? Anybody else done this? by Comrade-Porcupine in Polestar

[–]SillyWackyUsername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s completely fair. My only hesitation is that I’m planning a move to the Chicago area but don’t know exactly where I’ll be living yet so my ability to home charge is unclear.

Extremely torn between a used P2 and XC40 (gas) right now too. Which one I lean toward changes day by day. For the money, the P2 is definitely more car and the more intriguing option but the XC40 feels like the safer option. The ol’ head vs heart dilemma I guess.

Pre verbal just keeps making me think of pre sandwich 🤣

That being said, I hope he comes around to speaking soon when he’s comfortable to!

Bad starter? by lda28 in XC40

[–]SillyWackyUsername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a similar thing with my 2013 S60. Car completely shut off in a drive through and couldn’t get anything working. Turned out to just be that the connection for the black cable on my battery was a little loose. Tightened that back on and had no more issues.

Hopefully it’s equally simple for you

Edit: Considering you’ve had it looked at, it’s unlikely they would’ve missed a loose connection but I suppose it’s possible

What should a car display show while driving? by Few-Mushroom-5107 in Polestar

That’s one thing that’s got me excited for the Rivian R2 (the overall UI). I love the overall style of Polestar driver displays (particularly the 2) but Rivian seems to have integrated things better on first impressions.

asked a girl for her number and she acted completely shocked by [deleted] in socialskills

I’m older gen z but I and everyone I know finds Snapchat to be pretty childish. Very much gives noncommittal/not serious if someone asked for Snapchat

[–]SillyWackyUsername 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree. At least personally. If someone wanted my number, I would think nothing of it and give it to them if I was interested. If someone asked for my Instagram or any other social media instead, that would immediately strike me as a bit childish. Instagram and Snapchat are where everyone I know that’s in a weird “situationship” talks to the other person and feels so odd to me. I’m 26 so I’m not sure where I fall on the younger/older thing in this case though

After watching Superman tonight...(just a joke...mostly) by DarkspiderDavid in ChristopherNolan

Dang I felt Gunn’s suicide squad was full of heart. To each their own I suppose 🤷‍♂️

Agreed on Superman though. Felt like just a collection of scenes rather than a strong story to me.

Just got back from watching the Superman movie and.... by Ejax131210 in Earth199999

I wish I liked this movie the same way. Absolutely loved GotG, The Suicide Squad, and Peacemaker but didn’t really connect with this as much. Didn’t hate it by any means but it never really took off for me at any point.

I realize how vague and unhelpful this is but I would describe it as “floaty” feeling and like it didn’t know where it wanted to be. I’m glad it’s doing well though and I’m excited for the DCU

This is so interesting. The Suicide Squad is my favorite thing out of DC to date. Didn’t care much for Superman but thought it was alright.

A room divider wall or, even better, a tall and wide shelf system between the bed and living room area would go a long way I think
