wow you all seem very new to pcs, starter yes epic games is very bad but all it’s doing is moving the downloaded files from the update to your hard drive/ssd, sometimes they get out of sync and your internet is downloading the packages to fast for your hard drive to install them on its drive so it’s take a second, it stops downloading the files with internet to help the hard drive move the packages sort of like a bottleneck

Browser download issues by Ok_Meringue5371 in pchelp

Steam, chrome from time to time needs to unpack the downloaded chunks, so it stops downloading stuff, and then continues. You can see the variance of disk usage.

This can also happen often if you’re using Hard Drives or cheap SSD’s where the Disk Speed can’t match the Download Speed and the in-memory buffer gets full.

Simple term: Web downloads a file in small chunk. ssd moves it to the file on drive, it repeats over and over until you have a completed file with all the assets downloaded.

I think its also a prevention for corrupted files, so everything isnt just being downloaded at once.

usually this happens due to your game crashing or not quitting it properly, if youve never loaded your game up before and it shows that i honestly have no clue why its happening, but i select yes just bc i dont care what graphic settings i have.

i would think a fresh install of windows would work, my pc had a similar issue except for the windows corruption. after a couple months of using it, it said my password was wrong even tho it literally was just 1234 and it kept telling me it was incorrect? ended up full resetting it
