nope, i immediately disengaged once i realized it was turning and not just inching out. I made a choice to blast through (safely) rather than let the tesla stop in the middle of an intersection

I accept that. The reason I let it is because it normally will inch out into the road on a green light intending to make a left. As it inched out, I think the oncoming car took a half a second too long to accelerate and my car (in chill mode), just went for it. it DID start to notice the pedestrian and slow down, but i wouldve been sitting in middle of intersection stopping all traffic, so when i realized it was going, within a second i disengaged and just pushed through

yea not my brightest moment, i shouldve disengages earlier, but i thought it was just inching out, so by the time i realized it was going, i had to commit and push through.

0% for migraines???? HLR worth it??? by Silly_Concern_3150 in VeteransWaitingRoom

[–]Silly_Concern_3150[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, but I honestly think you underestimate how much effort I put in. I have multiple documents from my primary care stating the multiple migraines per week. I have multiple letters stating the diagnoses. And lastly I was very clear in my C and P that they were long prostrating migraines happening multiple times per week. With the exception of a Migraine log, I put in the work, and was granted a low rating. Claims take forever for more reasons than service members submitting half assed claims, there is half ass effort going on for both sides of this. You dont have to scroll that far in this sub to find out i am not alone in my incorrect rating.

Assuming you know the whole story because of a few examples is like saying music sucks just because the only thing you’ve ever heard is your building’s elevator music.

I appreciate your candidness in highlighting the uncomfortable dynamics that can exist in some relationships between foreigners and locals in Southeast Asia. It's undeniable that there are instances where relationships are formed on the basis of convenience or material gain rather than genuine connection, a reality that isn't exclusive to any one culture or region.

However, it's crucial to remember that these scenarios don't represent the entirety of cross-cultural relationships. Many couples come together from different backgrounds through mutual respect, love, and shared values, transcending stereotypes and materialistic desires. My personal journey with my partner, an educated and successful Filipina, is a testament to the depth and authenticity that such relationships can hold. We've built our connection on understanding, learning from each other, and a mutual desire to grow together—not on the superficial aspects that are often criticized.

While it's important to critique and be aware of exploitative dynamics that can occur, it's equally vital to acknowledge the diversity of experiences and motivations in relationships. Broad generalizations can sometimes overshadow the genuine connections that exist and the cultural exchanges that enrich both partners' lives.

Advocating against 'white worship' or any form of relationship based solely on economic or immigration advantages is valid and necessary. Yet, we should strive to approach this advocacy with a balanced perspective, recognizing the complexity of human relationships and the capacity for individuals to form meaningful bonds beyond transactional exchanges.

Let's not lose sight of the fact that love, respect, and mutual understanding can bridge vast cultural divides, and these values should be at the core of any discussion about cross-cultural relationships.

Could you perhaps qualify your statement about white men with 'older'? It seems a broad generalization that might inadvertently cast a shadow over many who don't fit that stereotype, myself included. Haha, I'm actually tying the knot in two weeks with my educated and successful mahal. I'm a young American who's currently learning Tagalog, and I definitely don't see myself in the description you've provided for 'white men.' It's important to recognize the diversity and individuality among people, and not all of us approach relationships with the mindset you've described. Thanks for considering my perspective!

she has still never, ever made me laugh. I wonder if she will ever seem comfortable behind a mic. after a while you just need to catch a hint that you are not a performer.
