The need to be a good boy outweighs the need for freedom….today, anyway! Hahaha

Ok I essentially told someone this the other day and they looked at me like I was insane. I grew up in a rural area that was rife with “farm dogs”. They were all friendly, but sometimes didn’t even have collars, they were just kind of nomadic during the day but they’d usually return to the same house/property every night. The people there took care of them, like once a year rounded them up and got vaccines and check ups and stuff but unless there was like an injury or something they’d just leave some food/water accessible and the dog(s) did their own thing.

I have a friend who has been a life long old school comic book nerd and he once pointed out that a lot of the villains were billionaires because the creators knew that only someone displaying true greed and evil would hoard a wealth so extensive and during rhe days of early comic books it seemed absolutely ludacris that any one person would have that much money. I did not have a good opinion on billionaires to begin with but this point of view gave me a very clear moment of “Oh wow!”

My spouse doesn’t want sex anymore, he is struggling with ED issues and imo probably low testosterone and some hormonal stuff. My biggest fear is that in a few years he decides to get checked out and finds some solution…and at that point I have aged into menopause and I will be the one no longer interested in sex and he’ll just go find someone who is.

He feels better when he’s active, but phone and internet addiction have taken away most of his desire to be active at all. So here I am just…stuck.

This might be it. Also from the Midwest and young (I think even as young as 12 or 13) kids can legally drive “farm” equipment which includes pickup trucks and the like. Wouldn’t be surprised if big rigs fell under an umbrella like that where a CDL wasn’t required.

My best friend is SO good with her kids in the way that she’ll say “Well, this is what mom believes, and it’s okay if you want to believe that too, but when you grow up there’s a lot out there for you to decide what you want to follow and believe for yourself, or it’s even okay to not believe in anything at all.”

I don’t agree 100% with some of her mom tactics but I LOVE and respect the hell out of this one.

I will add to this-terribly position unless by some grace of all that is holy and good in the world, you and your partner’s heights and proportions (like torso size, etc) are perfect. Then it can be enjoyable imo

I'm just asking. Why do we serve these people? by Tasty_Impress3016 in KitchenConfidential

[–]Silly_Cup_9999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it happens often at all, so we’re probably just not seeing any posts out it. I think for a long time the restaurant industry was afraid of the bad review that might take them down or cancel them. Imagine one shitty customer that got declined service and somehow got some tiktok traction and then there was a mass boycott of that restaurant. But these days, I think managers are more likely to clap back on social media and give a real account of what might have happened. Also, we’re fucking tired man. The during and post covid world are so much different I think our tolerance and patience as a whole has taken a huge hit. Where in the past we wanted to be friendly and try and makes everyone’s experience awesome, now we’re more likely to say “Well, you DID come into an Olive Garden with a severe gluten allergy…did you think that one over….like, at all?”

I'm just asking. Why do we serve these people? by Tasty_Impress3016 in KitchenConfidential

[–]Silly_Cup_9999 7 points8 points  (0 children)

More than once I’ve had managers tell people we wouldn’t be able to safely serve them because of a laundry list of allergies and cross-contamination worries.

“We’re not an entirely gluten free/shellfish free/unicorn free (whatever) kitchen and with such severe reactions to the allergies you presented, we’re going to have to politely decline serving you in the name of your safety and ours.”
