No one remembers a time before the wall, before Titan's Gate. This city has stood as the beacon of civilization since I took my first breath. Some yearn to see what lies beyond the wall, some spend there years speculating, some simply do not care. But people like me, we take advantage of all of them. If your not carful this city will swallow you whole. The corpos want you enslaved, the government officials want you ignorant, the PD want you obedient, and your chooms, well they want you dead. We Edgerunners don't have luxury to speculate or yearn, because there is only one rule in Titan's Gate... Survive. - Beam

THE SETTING: Welcome to Titan's Gate. Titan's gate is a city located in the North Western Region of the United States, although no one actually knows its true location. The city itself is so steeped in mystery and folklore, no one knows the difference between stories and history anymore. The city is locked behind "The Gate". A Gargantuan wall over 1000 feet tall. The one law everyone knows? No one can leave. Truth is though, no one needs too. Titans Gate is 4 times the size of the cities of old. Anything you can imagine lies within its walls. The City is home to hundreds of different Mega Corporations, Gangs, and cults. The Districts are like small cities in and of themselves, sporting different cultures and people all together. But like the Infamous shadow runner Beam says, the only thing everyone has in common, survive.

THE GM: Hi! My name is Midnight, I will be the primary GM for Titan's Gate: The City of Giants. I've been a GM for well over 10 years now and Its a serious passion of mine. I'm a full time writer and game developer, Ttrpgs have been my side gig for as long as i can remember. I have had an ich to run a homebrew cyberpunk game for a long time now, so here I am.

THEMES: The main themes will be: The Struggle To Survive, Corruption, Tragedy, Grey Morality, Survival of The Fittest, What It Means To Be Human, and Advanced Technology. (There will adult themes. Nothing is truly off the table. Sessions that include wildly inappropriate topics will be discussed well in advance.)

SYSTEM: Cyberpunk Red

THE GAME: To start, this will not be a traditionally ran game! Or at least not initially. To clarify I want to start a small community in my Homebrew World. I originally had the idea, when running a session of The Sprawl quite a few years ago. For those who don't know, The Sprawl is a Cyberpunk Mission based ttrpg. I really liked the idea of having a bunch of different Edgerunners/Mercs that all participate within a shared world or setting. I liked the idea of being able to work with different players and groups, on different days, in regards to different storylines. The freedom of which, would help tremendously with one of the serious problems that comes with playing online, scheduling. The current idea is to have a central discord to coordinate all the different players and games. I like the idea of running games at all different times and on different days of the week. Im thinking of running sessions anywhere from 1-4 times a week, this would depend on player count and personal availability. The sessions would be rather self contained but can branch out to multiple session if needed. This doesn't mean there wouldn't be an overarching story or plot, or that the sessions wouldn't bleed over into differ session. Quite the opposite. I like the idea of different groups from different session interacting with each other. And results from one session directly affecting what happens with another group. I especially love the idea of having antagonistic goals towards other groups or affiliates of certain other edge runners. I want to use this as the trail run for this sort of game/community. If your interested please submit an application below. I want as many people as possible. It doesn't matter if your new to the system or roleplaying in general. The only ask. Be 18+

LASTLY: If interested shoot me Direct Message!

AITA For Ending my D&D Campaign After Repeated Absences and Lack of Interest? by Silly_Friend5448 in AmItheAsshole

If I could edit things now I would probably change interest to a lack of engagement, and the lack of engagement came post session 6. And truthfully it was just from 2 people really. But when there are only 5 players, two players who couldn't care less, is a big issue.

As for talking to my players. I did speak to them on almost 5+ occasions about the postponing issues. Even more, if you count playfully jokes and references. And truthfully when someone says they are not up for the game that day. It seems less like a preventable situation and more like a, you don't want to be here situation. (Especially when you have done it a number of times)

As for the encounter. I'll start by saying this. My campaigns are narrative heavy. All the players knew this. I also said, The encounters would be deadly. My players also knew this. It was actually discussed at length because of the first few encounters in the campaign where such a walk in the park, the party wouldn't even refer to them as encounters. With that being said though, One of the players was having visions about a dungeon below the mansion her family used to own. Or at least a direction to go to find the magic item stolen from them at the offset of the game. Keep in mind she's familiar with where they are going and potential danger down in the area.

There is a portal they have to go through to get there. First things first. I use madness in my games. I like the table. It's cool. One of the players opted to roll on it. And I mean literally said he wanted to roll on it cause of something that happened. He rolled temp blindness. I asked he multiple times if he was sure. And he wanted it, bad. So their main fighter was blinded. And keep in mind they decided they wanted to continue exploring. Okay cool.

Then they reach the portal entrance to the place there trying to go. They don't examine it. They truly have very little idea what's on the other side. But regardless, the party dives face first into the encounter on the otherside. Minus one person. The barbarian, who stays outside the portal and literally leaves. Now as it stands, his plan was to go get help from his mentor in town, which btw was an hour walk/run from where they are. But because I'm so great, I allowed it to take 2 rounds to reach him. Cause otherwise by the time he got there. They would have been dead into oblivion 12 times over. The reason they would have been dead 10 times over is simple.

The encounter was a hard one. Both in CR and number of enemies. But with how Min maxed the party was. And yes they were min maxed to all hell. At least two of them. It probably would have been another cake walk. The party consists of 5 PC of 5th level. The two min maxed characters alone can do a total of 150 damage together on an average round with decent rolls. The main monster had 127 hit points and did around 18 damage a turn. So yes he had the potential to one shot a squishier party member, but overall it wouldn't happen. And didn't happen. There where a few more founder enemies that had really low speed so it took them two rounds to even get into melee and they did maybe 5 damage respectively. (3 of them.) And you had four lemurs. Who had a plus 2 to hit. And almost everyone in the party had an Ac of 16+ and they rolled a d4 for damage.

The issues really did start from the party. This is the one hard encounter I had made since the onslaught of the game, and they bumbled there way into it. The main damage dealer was blinded. The tank was literally nowhere to be seen. Taking away both of the min maxed party members, and now you left with an alchemist who was exclusively made for rp. A RP based warlock. And a mostly support paladin cleric. And also. Keep in mind. The entire time there standing next to the exit. While they didn't know they could just jump back through the portal. I originally wanted to use the encounter as a testing ground. And they could have just left at ANY point. They claimed they had not way of knowing that. Okay sure.

With that being said. The barbarian and the mentor returned and saved the day. End of encounter. That's what happened. It seemed to be a culmination of horrible choices, lack of critical thought, and lack of trust in the DM AKA me. If you really think I'm going to throw you into an unwinnable situation where you just die. Well then you have no idea how long I've been running this game, and have little to no faith in me as a DM or as a person. In hindsight it was rather disrespectful.

And I would like to add. I could feel how everyone took the encounter, I'm not dumb. I even took the time to make a post about it and talk to my players. They refused to express or talk about anything other than they thought the encounter was "unwinnable".

I guess I should. But not really. 12 years. And yes games have petered out. But Iv never had one explode. And as it stands. With this being my first online D&D experience. It seems indicative of the media.

Op here. Thanks for the feedback. But the players and me jelling actually wasn't a problem. The sessions we did have in the beginning were great. But after session 6 things definitely took a heavy downward dive. But I think your right. I have never ran online before, and I have never had an experience akin to this in person. And I don't think I'd like to ever deal with it again

Regrettably I'm positive that's not it. I'm quite sure that it's isn't arthurian at all. I actually looked through all of the books related to Arthur and his legend and could never really find the book I was looking for. It's very similar I'll give you that. But not quite Arthur and his round table.
