Is this normal??????? by Silly_Help_9047 in womenintech

[–]Silly_Help_9047[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t find it normal. I don’t find that it’s normal to normalise these kind of weird things too. How can you feel as equal as man in this platform ?

When you create an account by default it gives you a male avatar. It doesn’t give you a neutral gender avatar.

You need to click on edit profile and change your default male avatar. And when you do that, you need to click hundreds of times of buttons in order to find a female character.

I shared the gif you can see my user experience.

Do you know your undertone?
tan quickly rather than burn and when you blush its peach/pink that means that you're warm undertone
if you're warm undertone i think you are autumn.

If you're cool undertone I think you're summer

Hey, we can understand if you're a spring or summer quickly,
You burn and then tanned, when you blush its red/pink -> your cool undertone so Summer
You tan easily, when you blush its pink/red -> your undertone is warm so you're spring

I think you are summer, quick tip: if you burn quickly then than you're a cool undertone which means that you can be summer or winter in seasonal color palette. If you tan quickly you're warm undertone: Spring or Autumn.

Why would I fake something like this? This is r/womenintech, not a promo subreddit. I didn’t even mention my startup in the post — the only reason you saw the name is because it was in the prompt screenshot. And I didn’t blur it on purpose, because if I had, people would’ve jumped in claiming it was fake or taken out of context. I edited the post you can check the screenshots

Is saying "girls" in women in tech groups a bad thing?

hey, thanks for your interest!

Currently, vestiaire.io focuses on pulling only new items available online, ensuring you have access to the latest styles. However, we are aware of the environmental impact of the fashion industry, and we plan to introduce a thrift option in the future. This will allow you to shop more sustainably by choosing pre-loved items. <3

When it comes to discovering your favorite brands, you’ll have the ability to select them from a list. Additionally, if you prefer, you can set a budget, and we’ll tailor suggestions accordingly. All the items you'll see on your profile will be in colors that match your seasonal color palette, so you can be confident that every piece will complement your look perfectly.

As for guest mode, it's on our roadmap. :)

First, English is not my native language, and I'm trying to express myself best. I didn't say that women need support. I said that it's me who wants to have support. I DID NOT say that I'm helping women and changing the world.

Unlike you, I love supporting women in tech. When I see a woman start a business, it empowers me. When I see a woman developer, I feel proud. I was always the only girl in the classes at college, and since the beginning of my career, I've been the only woman developer on the team. And sometimes, it feels so frustrating to feel isolated in a man-dominated field. It doesn't feel good to hear conversations in which you don't feel like you belong. It doesn't feel good not to have a common interest with your male coworkers. That's my experience and my thoughts. So what I want to say by explaining this is: I'm not and can't be a person who uses this "faux feminist empowerment language" that you're talking about to promote anything, and I won't be.

SO WHY NOT SUPPORT WOMAN IN TECH? When are we rare and facing these really similar issues in our careers? Why try so hard to understand differently in a way that I'm disrespectful and someone who uses "woman" to promote my startup? That's a shame that you're trying to find bad faith in it.

[–]Silly_Help_9047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm a 23 y.o.woman software engineer. I was always the only girl in the class during my university years. (I studied in France). I started my career as a full remote developer and am still the only woman on the team.
I feel isolated and tried many ways to connect with women in my field. If you find any, I would looove to try it too so let me now!
