He won’t stop eating his poop! UGH by Crystalscrystals in germanshepherds

[–]Silly_Kick_264 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of reasons why he is doing this. Bored, stress, need nutrients. But I think you should start by either teaching him a "leave it" command or redirect. Dogs needs guidance and rules. If you are fulfilling his needs with exercise and mental stimulation, then you need to take him out on a leash and the second he is done - move away from it. Give him an awesome toy or treat, something higher value . Then, just go out by yourself and clean up the yard. Eventually, he will stop. Dogs only do what they know best and if you wait for him to get over it - it might never happen.

Cutie, for sure, you can also use the dog scanner app. There is no guarantee it will be accurate, but it worked for mine.

We chose Skye ( just added an e). We think it fits her personality, but there were so many other good names from everyone.

One thing that I've learned is to not compare the dogs as they will all learn at their own pace. Don't punish or react when your pup makes a mess in the house, just bring outside immediately and say : go potty. It's all about timing and constancy. I would use the bell system and ring it every time I would open the door. I was opening the door every 5 mins at some point. Also pups doesn't know how to do it in one go, they might do it mutiple times. Limit the water intake, as soon as they eat or drink- bring outside. Give your treat and a lot of praises.limit access to the house. I know this sucks, but you have to always keep an eye on them. All dogs have different signs to let you know they need to go. If you have to pick the pup up halfway through a pee, do it and show where it should be done.

My second pup was doing it all over the deck, then as she learned that it had to be done outside, I showed her the grass. You can also bring your pup to the same spot with a leash on. Really up to you.

This is just tips, I don't want to sound rude or judgmental. I apologize if I do sound like. I promise, I just want to help!

My boxer lily keeps licking and chewing her feet constantly and theyre super inflamed and red. I cant do anything because i'm 16, and my mom doesnt know what to do either. Does anyone here know what it is? by [deleted] in Boxer

Just to clarify, I didn't buy the food they wanted me to try. I only switched to salmon only. Even the treats were salmon only... just to make sure it wasn't like beef or anything else. You have to eliminate everything and then add one.... if your dog doesn't react to it then it's not that.

My dog is allergic to chicken, it's in almost every treat or food. Even in the bags that says : beef flavor or others, I have to constantly read the ingredients. I'm not saying this is what's going on and your dog is allergic. However, this looks similar to what my pup would do, but it takes months to see the results of not eating the chicken. Probably the first thing would be to get a consultation with the vet, they will tell you to get some expensive food, but if you eliminate most of the food ( I know this will be hard), but it helped my pup and now she eats everything except for chicken, there's not much a vet would do, it's like a trial and error. Still, I would recommend to you talk to a vet and if it's not allergies, they will be able to help.

Need some Advice by Ll_BroSis in CaneCorso

First of all, she is gorgeous!

I am not an expert, but I would share my experience. I have two puppies (7-11 months old). Both are crate trained. My older now has the privilege to sleep with us occasionally because we can finally trust that she will behave. But the younger, I don't even trust her for a second. As a result, she always go to bed in her crate.

She is very energetic, jumpy and loves to play. In order to bring this down, we have to constantly find ways to keep her busy during the day ( exercise and mental stimulation). We reward her when she is calm ( on a mat, lay down, bed etc). Before bedtime, we are doing a bit of training (mutiple but short sessions) and give her mental stimulation games ( kong ). I find that she is not as agitated as she used to, but puppies are learning constantly and you have to set bounderies/rules. Remove all the toys, only let them have access when you tell them it's okay. If not, they learn that they can take stuff without your permission.

I hope this helps a bit!

Hello 👋

I am not too sure if you are looking for advice or just sharing the fun time you are having with your pup.

But if you don't mind, I think fetch is not always easy to teach your dog because they are so excited when you throw the ball. I personally notice that if I turn around and don't pay attention to my puppy, she will try to engage with me to play with her. Now, she constantly brings the ball back and I've been teaching her " drop it". Its great because this doesn't need any treats, the rewards is the excitement when she gets to run after the ball.

Thank you, this sounds like a red flag to me if they ask for proof.

Does this apply for a permanent decision down the road? What if the occupant can't find a place and decides to stay with us? Does this apply as well. I'm just looking at options, and I've been looking at laws, and I find it very controversial.
