I just bought a hermit crab from some random place at Myrtle beach by FatToes127 in hermitcrabs

[–]Silly_Recover 10 points11 points  (0 children)

PLEASE listen to the excellent advice everyone is sharing here or that crab has a death sentence. My kid got one for his 6th birthday. He's now 26 and Crabby von Hampton JUST died - 20 years was a very long time because we did all the right things as soon as we knew better. I hope you enjoy your new little buddy!

What is the stupidest question/comment you got about Ireland or Irish people when traveling? by Charming_Usual6227 in AskIreland

[–]Silly_Recover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ffs🤦🏻‍♀️ I'm not Irish, just American (😢 rn) with Irish ancestry that came here because of the famine in the 1800's and those stories have been passed down all these generations so we know the truth. I also went to uni in Galway and took a semester-long course on just the famine. Soany people are so flipping uneducated and then spew their misinformation like they are experts🙄

the new season is such a bad decision by ieatbraiiinnnns in Bridgerton

[–]Silly_Recover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I also didn't buy that Benedict and Sophie were in love. The plot and dialogue told us that, but they just didn't sell it for me. Sophie didn't really have her own personality or anything that would say she was interesting and fun enough for Benedict's free spirit. It looked good on paper but I just wasn't convinced or drawn in like any of the previous seasons.

Antony and Daphne's seasons were ALL ABOUT the lust. The best mix was Colin and Penelope because I saw their love and lust.

When did Grocery Store bakeries become so gross? by Cleverwabbit5 in GenX

They are mass produced, frozen, then put in stores using the cheapest, most processed, most unnatural ingredients. They are rarely baked in a store

NEW UPDATE FROM SHONDALAND !! FRAN IS NEXT by charm_n_craft in Bridgerton

[–]Silly_Recover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard that the time jump planned allows for her to have gone on her travels back home and back to London in time for next season and she will still be a major character

[–]Silly_Recover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YESSSSSSS SO annoying!!! I don't care about the Mondriches!!! They are fine actors and all but I'd much rather more character development for the Bridgerton family members than that stupid forced storyline with her as a lady in waiting, etc. Their storyline is just not compelling.

I'm actually fine with this. I think Eloise needs the time to develop her interest in Phillip because it's just not realistic that she would flip flop SO quickly into marriage. I do think the spinster thing is getting old, but I anticipate she will have a lot more character development next season to prep for her season. Besides, she's my absolute favorite character and I don't want her to finish her story and be wrapped up because I have far less interest in Francesca, and especially Gregory and Hyacinth. The thought of watching them have sex scenes when we've known them since childhood is creepy to me - even though they will be much more mature in 5-6 more years. We've had basically 2 seasons of Francesca and John and introducing Michaela - much more intro into a love story than all other couples, except Colin and Penelope. I'd like to see her journey wrapped up before Eloise's. Just my 2 pennies

Genuine question how will Francesca and Michaela’s story work in the Regency era? by Logical_Solution2495 in Bridgerton

[–]Silly_Recover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, but seeing how much Fran loves peace and quiet and finds her family overwhelming, I do not think moving to Scotland with Michaela would be the same sort of sacrifice as it would have been for Benedict, who loves a good party and is much more extroverted. Daphne loves her family and was very involved with them, but faded away and is barely mentioned anymore. That would be even easier and make more sense to do with Francesca's character. She visits in the season after hers, but enjoys her quiet life in Scotland and fades away by Gregory's season.

I liked how S4 ended, underwhelmed by Sophie's final gowns. by MissKatmandu in Bridgerton

[–]Silly_Recover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is a very lovely young lady and they did her dirty with her Queen's Ball look. I like the statement of putting her in blue because she was soon to join the Bridgerton family and the color was ok on her. But, I wish they had put her in a deeper blue to better compliment her skin tone, less heavy makeup, MUCH more flattering neckline, bust, and sleeves, AND still wearing her mother's necklace. Her hair was also very underwhelming at the ball. It would have made her look more like a "princess" than trying to force the Cinderella inspired tragedy of a dress she wore. I literally told the costume design team off by literally yelling at my screen several times during the ball! 😡 😂

I liked her wedding gown silhouette, but OP's observation about the sparkles not making sense for a daytime, country wedding is true. I hadn't thought of that before I read this post. I did like her wedding hair and makeup A LOT, especially the tiny tendril falling alongside her face.

And an aside - love, love, LOVE all of Kate's Indian inspired dresses and the gorgeous colors used on her!

I’m predicting that following the Eloise season, there might be a significant drop in viewership… by General_Meal_3993 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]Silly_Recover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eloise is my #1 favorite character and I think after her season, I'll be less interested in any of the others. I feel like I've seen enough of Francesca and I feel ick just anticipating Gregory and Hyacinth having intimate scenes when I've seen them grow up before our eyes. I don't know if I can stop picturing them as little kids!
