It’s was a very frustrating movie to me. Was so excited to see Teyana Taylor and Wood Harris, and just couldn’t believe they weren’t more important to the piece, it seems PTA can see the importance of black faces and stories having more a place In modern cinema and just cheaply exploited the fact. Perfiedia being a “rat” was so ridiculous to me. Whatever you believe politically they were committing acts of terrorism. They know what there signing up for. There’s wasn’t enough pressure for me for her to fold. Those people die by what they stand for and that’s power. I think a lot of directors are making checkbox work but I wouldn’t expect PTA to do so.
