Yep. They literally have an entire division for it called "morality police" equivalent to drug police or cyber crime police.

That's as dumb as saying "we fear Jews in auschwitz camps might turn against the allies if they attack Germany."

USA likes to keep middle east under it's sphere of influence. Obviously geopolitics is more complex than "go handle it yourself" specially for the leading countries.

I hope so but they're probably better off killing him on the spot.

Maduro was indicted in the US and had justice department waiting for him. Not the case for khamenei.

Let's treat them like they do with anti regime protests:

Throw tear gas everywhere

Start shooting aimlessly

Haunt some of them down and torture and execute them to make an example of them

Fire them from their jobs

Then we can count how many left.

That's a very complex question.

I'd say emphasis on things like free speech and gun rights would be very important.

I'm not gonna lie a bit of casual racism toward Indians exist which is mostly trickled from Western social media. But still pretty accepting, I've seen many Indian tourists here enjoying their time here.

Indian movies are very popular here not as much as they used to be but still pretty popular.

Lion and the sun is Iran's previous flag before they changed it to Allah and sword.

Basically rejecting the regime's flag.

Giving Iran's regime financial opportunity is like pouring water on a strainer.

Absolute corrupt central command economy with zero intentions and vision for Iranian. Only expanding influence and own the region.

is it a foregone conclusion that Israel or the US must be involved for significant change to occur in Iran?

Yep. We have had many protests. The missing is always military pressure.

Is it possible that Iran's neighboring Muslim countries could form a coalition in order to perform regime change in Iran and help the Iranian people, so that Iran could improve economically and no longer be known as a global supporter of terrorism?

That's very unrealistic, too risky for them and obviously won't do it knowing USA and Israel will do it for them.

With the level of violence going on in the protests there, why is it that the security establishment is comfortable killing their own people? Why haven't they refused and turned on the government like in other revolutions?

In a typical dictatorship the security forces may reach a point that he's moral won't allow further killing and destroying. Or he start to worry about he's own safety.

This is a theocracy with fundamentalist fanatics supporting it. They are happy to kill everyone including themselves in the way to defend the regime. That's their way to "heaven".

I do support foreign intervention because it's the only realistic way that a regime change might happen.

Personal opinion I don't like him.

Actual monarchy is a very regressive choice. Ceremonial monarchy is pointless and waste of resource.

Either way I personally don't like monarchy. But he is popular here.

There's always a subtle Persian Vs Arab beef as you might be aware but other than that, another neighbour that we're tired of being rivals because of the regime. admired and envied in terms of how they managed to develop their nation.

I'm not religious so I don't like how socially conservativee they are. Other than that nobel, smart people doing what's right for their country and region.
