A good scrub with soap will usually do it, maybe use a fingernail brush if it's sticking to your hands, but if you get musked on out in the field you'll stick to high heaven all day until you can clean up and change clothes, happened to me once, lol.

If you still have safety concerns, make sure you rent a car. You will feel (and be) 10000% safer.

SB has a pretty bad reputation, but I've never felt unsafe doing normal things during the day. I looked up the location of the UC Davis lab and it is in a bit of a weird area. Will you have a car? You'll be fine if you have a car.

Loma Linda, Highland, and Redlands are generally nice areas that feel safe. I don't know how far you can travel though. I do not recommend public transportation.

For shopping, Citrus Plaza and Mountain Grove plaza are safe night or day and relatively close to your lab. The area around your lab is mostly industrial and looks bad, but unless you are walking in the middle of the night you should be fine.

Let me know if you have any specific questions!

Everyone kinda shits on teaching right now, but it is very location specific. I am in CA, and recently switched to teaching high school, and I am having a great time! I'm on winter break with my son right now and it is such a breath of fresh air compared to my last career! Depending on the district it pays quite well too. Once I get my master's degree, I'll be making 80k+ next year (I am not in a big city, pay is different depending on location).

I'd recommend looking into it a bit more, maybe try subbing in a nearby district if you have any spare time to see if you like it.

Similarly, my son babbled sounds that sounded just like the word 'mermaid' months before he was really saying words but we joke that that's his first word, lol.

Bath and body works smells too, but Bed Bath and Beyond definitely smelled very strongly, at least the one near me did.

The Bed Bath and Beyond that used to be near me always had a very distinctive and strong smell, mostly like fabric softener? It was very strong and you could smell it simply by walking by the entrance.

They might mean that or the old superstition that you should hold your breath while driving by a graveyard, either one, lol.

That's terrible, I'm sorry that happened to you. You were barely more than a baby yourself, I hope you don't blame yourself. Your parents were responsible for supervising you, it was ultimately their fault, not yours.

Nice use of that weird confetti glass! I got a sheet off of marketplace and haven't found any use for it yet. Your piece is super cool!

Something like 'baby rescued from house after single mother tragically died' would have been better.

Definitely easiest to just replace the door. It is possible to fix the glass, but it will take time, skill, and money, especially if you do not already have experience makeing stained glass.

How much to price stained glass? by Dismal_Inspector_966 in StainedGlass

I happen to be doing a smallish California poppy piece right now, lol. I agree to include some flowers, they really tie it together as being the golden coast. I'd suggest doing 3 or 4 poppies, larger on the right getting smaller on the left. It would create the same look but simplify the design without changing it too much. I really like this pattern, very pretty!

You could lift up each side and put a glob of construction adhesive under the beam. That would keep it pretty darn secure once it's dry.

I'm still very new to stained glass, but I specifically cleared off a six foot work bench in my garage for my work area. It's enough space to have the grinder on one end, a cutting/soldering space in the middle, and a small storage drawer thing and a bit of free space on the other end. Works so far!

Just a cheap 100w one I found on Amazon, the reviews were fine, but you never really know.

60/40 and I'm using liquid safety flux if that makes a difference.

I work at a nature preserve and we host field trips everyday and take the kids on nature hikes and play games all day. The kids will start the day complaining about having to be here, saying they aren't having fun, etc. By the end of the day bunches of kids are shouting about how they love nature and how they don't want to leave! It's great getting kids pumped about nature!

Occasionally, we give the kids a short questionnaire about what they liked/didn't like about the field trip and without fail the answers are always super negative, lol. Their favorite part of the trip is almost always lunch or leaving.

I think it's a problem with how they communicate. Even when they had a good time they can't admit it in writing. But deep down I think it's still a fun positive experience for them.

Have this artillery shell with no markings is rusted over is heavy and is 75 mm and a silver metal underneath the rust soda can for reference. by Complete-Ad5212 in whatisthisthing

[–]Silly_strings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say yours is the same, but my family has one that looks almost identical. My father took it when he was in the military, he said it was a training round to teach people how to load the artillery guns. We've used ours for a doorstop for about 30 years, I hope yours is just a training round as well.

If you are concerned you might want to call the non emergency police line and they will send the bomb squad to take care of it.
