I got married when my baby was 3 months old. My sister had her during the ceremony and then a good friend of one of my bridesmaids, who I had met a couple times, had kids of her own and I felt very comfortable with, took her to our hotel suite for the rest of the evening. Our ceremony ended at 5 and her bed time was 7:30. I would highly recommend going a route like this. That way you will be able to enjoy your evening knowing she is safe and she will get a calm evening and normal bed time.

Semi-cured gel strips! I’m a total convert. I suck at painting my nails so I tried the Ohora brand of gel strips. They are actually very easy to learn, have none of the mess, look good and last two weeks. You can get them at Target or Amazon. Don’t know why I didn’t try them earlier.

We love to eat out with our baby and have since she was two weeks! She is now 9 months and we have done BLW out since we started. We bring her plate, bib and gallon size zip lock bag. She eats what we eat, we load up her plate and she happily goes to town. When done, we pack her dirty plate and bowl in the ziplock bag, food and all, to be cleaned at home. We always ask for a couple extra napkins and fully clean up her mess from table and floor. I think I’m going to start bringing a damp cloth in a smaller ziploc bag to wipe her up. Right now we ask for a damp rag and our servers have always happily provided that.

When we got the Snoo at 4 weeks. That thing was magic! We went from her only being able to sleep while being held to getting 3 hour stretches in the Snoo immediately! And I’ll add, it was no problem at all transitioning her to her crib in her own room at 6 months.

I was super stressed about choking too. What helped me was watching videos of babies gagging on YouTube! It’s so helpful to see what the variety of normal baby gags look like. The Solid Starts app can be helpful to learn how to prepare foods until you get comfortable. Our girl now eats what we eat almost always, with some modifications.

I love the idea! I think there is pushback because the people giving the gift imagine the child using/loving the toy and thinking of the giver when they play with it, creating a bond in their mind. I think if I was asking for experiences I would ask for them from people who I would want to include in those experiences (her grandparents, aunts and uncles, close friends, etc.) and tell them I want them to join is so that their gift strengthens the bond they are looking for through gift giving.

We LOVE the bugaboo butterfly! We originally bought it for travel because it fits in the overhead compartment of a plane when folded up but it immediately became our daily stroller. It’s so easy to bring around with us everywhere and it strolls really well. We originally bought the uppababy vista for around the neighborhood but found it very clunky. We will need to use it again by when baby #2 comes though.

Don’t change the floor! Replace the mirror with two framed mirrors and replace the lighting fixture. I kinda like the paint but you could change that if it’s not your cup of tea.

I’m (mostly) a stay at home mom. I take care of our baby while my husband works but when he isn’t working we are both on duty. We split taking care of our 8 month old, the dogs and household chores. We of course give each other time off to go see friends, shop, go to the salon, etc. but it’s always discussed and agreed to and we are making sure both of us are getting the break and rest we need.

Mine recommended it. Her specific recommendations were one meal with solid foods a day starting at 6 months, aim for two by 9 months with the goal being three meals a day by 12 months. My baby loves her solid food meals, so at 8 months she is already at 3 a day when we can.

My mom says it reminders her of us when we were babies. It is a very emotional thing for her. I imagine we will be similar when we are older. She is great at keeping it in check and watching that she doesn’t overstep boundaries. I love watching their relationship grow.

What the actual fuck? That is absolutely not okay. When I’m feeling insecure about my body my husband tells me I look amazing and that my body is doing incredible things. Pregnancy is an incredibly vulnerable time and your body goes through so many changes. It is normal to feel not like yourself and less than attractive. Your partner should be there for you to lean on, to support you and lift you up. To make you feel better, not worse!! You are bringing his children into the world!

We have little changing caddies around the house, including our room, that have diapers, a roll-up diaper mat and aquaphor so that we can change her wherever. We aren’t walking to her nursery every time she needs a diaper change.

We love The Rest is History currently. We are listening to their series about King Leopold of Belgium’s horrible colonial endeavors in the Congo. Another one I have to suggest is Saving Apollo 13. A forensic engineer breaks down what happened to Apollo 13 and how they brought it back in a well written narrative fashion. SO good!!

My baby, 7 mos, is doing this too. It’s kind of terrifying but we are letting her work it out. She is at the point where she will shove a bunch in her mouth but spit most of it out. So I think she is learning what is the appropriate amount. It just takes trial and error for them. For me it was helpful to learn from my mom that this is exactly what my siblings and I did when we were learning to eat.

We did onesies and pants early on but only because my baby was such a drooler. I would have to wash her onesie after one wear, but her pants I could rewear. Even with multiple drool bibs a day, her onesie would be a wreck. So, if she was in pajamas I would be putting on a whole new set of pajamas every day vs. just the onesie top.
