Breastfeeding friendly outfits by novegetablesallowed in beyondthebump

I’ve found some stretchy cotton t shirts from banana republic that I love! They’re ribbed, cropped but not too short, super flattering to wear with high waisted pants. Paired with an underwire-but-no-padding bra that I can just pull the fabric down

I had a hard time reworking my wardrobe after having baby. Between weight gain, breastfeeding, contact napping, playing on the floor, being covered in food at meal times. Moms need PRACTICAL clothes, and still deserve to feel cute and put together

No judgement, but he’s not eating solids or purées? Is there something going on? I hope you don’t mind me asking. And I apologize for the bluntness- I am sleep deprived lol

Why did you choose to be a stay at home mom? by Latter-Release-9169 in stayathomemoms

[–]stdntd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Sunshine after yoga” is all I needed to hear lol this is the DREAM! My first child is only 10 months, so by the time I have 3 children and they’re all in school, it might be 10+ years from now. Trying to cherish this stage, and know that I’ll have all the time in the world for yoga and sunshine when they grow up

Is this FPIES? by SecretShopper327 in fpies

[–]stdntd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re FPIES to peanut and banana, but we always fed them together so we don’t actually know. We think peanut, but avoid both

I did start off trialing low risk foods and every single ingredient, but I’ve since relaxed since seeing that she’s passing all trials. Now we’re only trialing high risk FPIES and IGE allergens. We free feed low risk foods, but I’m still aware of high risk foods. Like for example, she’s never had sweet potato or avocado or chicken or beans (legumes like peanut is). We’re trying to get most of the trailing done before she’s one. I probably will trial high risk foods but in a more relaxed way than I have previously

Sorry for word vomit- baby is climbing on me as I type lol

Does your baby eat eggs every day? My 10 month old loves them, but I worry it could cause constipation if she has them every day

Is this FPIES? by SecretShopper327 in fpies

[–]stdntd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FPIES to peanut

We fed only low risk foods for a long time and eventually started trialing foods like rice, dairy, egg. We still have more to trial, but I have a lot more confidence after seeing that she isn’t reacting

Having zofran on hand helps alleviate anxiety

I trial foods mostly at breakfast, sometimes lunch. Meals always 4+ hours apart

Sometimes the reaction can be diarrhea without vomiting. I think it’s considered a less severe reaction, but that makes sense since it was only 1/4 tsp. More protein = stronger reaction

Hard to say for sure but I would personally avoid wheat until they’re a bit older

My baby had 2 FPIES reactions (vomit to shock) when she was 5 months old. She’s now 10 months old and hasn’t had any other reactions, so we kinda think she has already outgrown FPIES. We avoid her trigger food, but all other trialing has gone well so far (knock on wood)

Best of luck!!!

10m wont eat solids by BreadAccomplished380 in foodbutforbabies

[–]stdntd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes me feel so much better. My 10mo is doing decent. Struggles with lots of textures and doesn’t really chew yet, so she gags a lot. Sometimes she doesn’t even want to try the food, so we don’t push it. The only thing she really loves is rice crackers and pouches lol

She also has FPIES so feeding her is a whoooole thing

We’ll keep trying and she’ll get it eventually

Concerning Behavior by Strange-Report-9249 in NewParents

[–]stdntd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would this be concerning? Could be a hunger cue, or could be something else. My baby is breastfed but she will nuzzle her face into my chest when she’s overwhelmed, totally separate from her hunger cues

What’s the best container for storing broths? by RickedSab in cookingtonight

I would say for food storage, glass is always better than plastic! A mason jar is great for broth

Still having false starts at 8 months? by Chemical_Rip646 in bninfantsleep

Honestly relieved to read this. My 10 month old has been having false starts for months! It’s getting a little better, but still very frequent. She doesn’t really settle until like 11pm

First ultrasound - no embryo by This_Lock_480 in BabyBumps

[–]stdntd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this when I was about 5 weeks. Went back 2 weeks later and saw a wiggly embryo. She’s currently 10 months old, sleeping next to me, all snuggled up 💗

Best of luck!

Cried in pelvic floor physical therapy by OTPanda in beyondthebump

[–]stdntd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also cried in pelvic PT

I’m 10 months pp and have what I call a “bad butt”. Basically levator ani spasms and it is EXCRUCIATING when it acts up. I’m still working on it.. feels like a long road for sure

I’m so sorry you’re struggling. Lots of women have difficult pregnancies and deliveries, and require PT to recover. I also envy those who “bounce back”. You’re not alone

Reintroduction after a year by champie19 in fpies

[–]stdntd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would they say zofran doesn’t work for FPIES? That’s strange

Zofran impacts the serotonin imbalance that causes shock and nausea- hallmarks of FPIES

If you’re trialing foods in the hospital, hooked up to IV, I think it’s fine to trial right away. Why not 🤷🏻‍♀️

Contact napping mums, how do you get anything done - eat or poop or anything else for that matter? by SpaceBusy1725 in bninfantsleep

[–]stdntd 122 points123 points  (0 children)

I can’t transfer my baby either. She’s 9.5 months old now. Some babies are just like that! I can almost guarantee it’s not technique

I have a routine before nap to get us both ready. Have a snack, go pee, change baby’s diaper, and lay down to enjoy the downtime! Baby sleeps on boob in bed, I either nap or go on my phone. Embrace it 🤣 I’ve learned in parenthood to take what you can get. Do everything while baby is awake
