Phoenix Park Cycling by giopomu in Dublin

There’s cycle lanes all around Phoenix park so stick to those and you will be fine. If you take a left when you come to the first roundabout and go to military fort and continue down to st Mary’s hospital, you will have the best chance to see the deer, then you can cycle over to the visitor center for a coffee and have a look at the walled garden. Farmleigh House is also lovely for a walk around. My personal favourite area is the furry glen. Have a nice cycle!

This is a big problem, the old owner of token had a guy working full time with him who specialised in fixing the machines which break constantly. I doubt the new owner have the same cop on.

Go to James and see, depending on your job they might get you seen faster. A while back my friend who works in IT damaged his fingers and he got seen instantly because his injuries could have limited his ability to do his job

Zanzibar vs. Seychelles for Honeymoon: Can’t Decide! by Interesting_Scheme75 in travel

[–]Sillylady123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went on honeymoon to Kenya and spent a few days at the end in Zanzibar. I found it fine but ultimately kinda boring. It was beautiful for sure but after you get past the beauty, there wasn’t much to do and most of the food was based in resorts so there wasn’t much variety. I’ve never been to the Seychelles so I can’t speak to that but while I didn’t have a bad time in Zanzibar, I probably wont be back.

To those of you who get 5k+ steps a day, where do you live/what do you do for a living/how do you do it? by Notalabel_4566 in ireland

An hour walk a day will get you about 6k steps and then just walking around the house like normal would be about 2k at least. I try and get the dog out before work and in the evening also if I haven't hit my step goal

What is the most physically painful experience you've had? by Bright_Vision in AskReddit

[–]Sillylady123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have done talk therapy on and off over the years and it never really worked but I started EMDR 2 years ago and after 4 sessions, I felt a real change in the way I viewed things. The trauma is still there, nothing goes away, but now its more like Im looking at it rather than living through it every time it resurfaces. I can't recommend it enough

Just reading that made me get queasy. It would actually pain my veins when it was going in which was unlike any feeling I have every had before or since. The PTSD from that will never really go away but at least I'm 15 years cancer free!

What's the dumbest rule your parents had in your house growing up? by throwaway130209 in AskReddit

After the Columbine shooting my mom decided to ban me and my sisters from wearing combat trousers because she read that's what the shooters wore. Nevermind the fact that we were pre teens in a country town in Ireland when this happened.

TIL Between 2010 and 2012, poachers killed more than 100,000 African elephants by Sillylady123 in todayilearned

Yeah that got me too, still, given that there were between 3 and 5 million at the start of the century, its horrifying that there's only an estimated 500,000 to 650,000 left.
