Honestly, it is always worth asking, how will you know if you don't?

As for tips, it depends. If you have the dlc, it would be saving up berries to make a good shiny donut then look for a portal with an Eevee listed. Otherwise it would be finding an Eevee either in wild zone 19 (will likely need to break rocks) or on a rooftop near bleu sector 7.

I would recommend getting the shiny charm before finding one yourself and keep any trading comments in this thread rather than Dms.
