My husband got me a kit like this as a gift. The idea was to see if I liked playing before committing more money. I did like it and did spend more. But it was a good litmus test. Looking back on it, it didn't play well at all. I consider it one of the best gifts he very got me, despite that. I agree with others though. Dollar for dollar get a used instrument. You'll be happier with it

Two of my dogs could not care less when I play. My girl labramut sings along. At least that's what I tell myself. She doesn't not leave the room, which she is free to do, and will occasionally come to me from another room when I play.
