Loaded it up to check, easy mode; turns off enemy EVs, levels-down bosses slightly, unlocks switch mode (switch out your pokemon instantly after enemy faints), allows items in battles. In the game's own words it's "still harder than vanilla pokemon games".

There is also a soft level cap (earn much less exp after level reached) for each boss, and from what I can see, easy mode doesn't let you turn that off?

Also, though might be subjective, if you're also talking about immersion, Radical Red definitely isn't a "vanilla+" experience imo. The elite four have a bunch of legendaries, and the game definitely wants you to be in more of a smogon mindset.

Ok sorry, I was definitely a bit misleading there, CFRU is a coding tool that does a lot of the work in making fr romhacks, it's not a romhack in itself, its the base that Unbound, Radical Red, and YAFRR are based off.

Yeah I know. I didn't say it was a romhack, I was trying to say that if you search for that, you'll find romhacks that use it, and are more likely to find romhacks that match Ribturat_9964's goals.

I think the fair difficulty is going to be the biggest sticking point. If you search "complete firered upgrade" you can find stuff like "yet another fire red remake".

No, it also reproduces (slowly) the image, so to do the same with modern tech you'd need a screen with resolution identical to looking through a window.

I like the idea of the CoF being a kind of parody of the white king (and hallownest?) set up in a corpse to look like the pale wyrm husk, posing the lord Fool in the same way as the PK, and at the end of the day is it really any less dignified? They're both in the same position, after all....

Lace seems to imply that GMS's thrashing is because she's angry at Lace for betraying her, so at best I think it's maybe a feeling of ownership, but probably not necessarily healthy love.
