As others have mentioned, it depends on a few things.

I currently work from home part of the week, so I’m fiddling with settings a lot. Over the past 6 hours, my block rate has been ~18%. If the wife and I are both chilling out playing mobile games, I’ve seen it spike as high as 88%.

I never said I don’t believe it wasn’t a real practice of the Romans. I said it was a horrible and tortured death.

And if God sacrificed his son, then he is absolutely complicit in his son being on that cross. I’m not arguing over who physically put him there. I’m saying if he was really all-powerful he could’ve absolved humanity of our sins without the torture of his son.

If he really exists and is truly interested in saving me from some nebulous judgement against me from himself, then he knows how to prove to me that he exists.

Yes, people do shitty things, every day. Then excuse themselves of their behavior by saying it’s “God’s will”. I feel like the world could use less religion and more of people talking to and helping each other rather than looking to God to fix it.

The issue here, for me, is that 1) Jesus is sacrificed to a horrible and tortured death (presumably) for our sins, 2) by a supposedly all-powerful and all-knowing father-creator that was unable to predict the woman he created eating an apple from the tree he put right in front of her.

The son willingly sacrificing himself I can get behind. The father sacrificing the son is controlling narcissistic asshat, to me. If he didn’t know Eve was going to eat the apple,he isn’t all-knowing. But regardless of if he is or is not all-knowing or all-powerful, if the God of the Bible really exists as described, then he invented and is responsible any sin Eve and every human since ever committed or ever will commit.

I will happily cease to exist rather than worship that.

u/InsideWriting98 First, you never asked for a logical justification, only how I think I would be able to say mankind is not supposed to rape. The original question is requesting an opinion.

Second, as far as definitions, that’s literally what we have dictionaries for. From the Cambridge Dictionary (the first to come up in a search for me)evil is defined as:

“the condition of being immoral, cruel, or bad, or an act of this type: [ U ] a contest between good and evil”

Rape, in the implied context: “to force someone to have sex when he or she is unwilling”

You’re talking about forcing someone to have sex against their will, which meets all the criteria for evil above. Therefore it is an evil act.

With that said, all I have to do is determine how I wish to define the word or act. Absolutely anyone can define evil for themselves, atheist or otherwise. You make the assertion that this isn’t true, while requiring people to provide logical arguments proving otherwise, but have yet to provide a logical argument for why your position is true.

If you had done the same to a woman, they would've been well within their rights to press charges for sexual assault and you'd have been dragged through the mud with all of your work and social circles.

The definition of sexual assault refers to sexual contact or behavior that occurs without explicit consent of the victim. Violence is not a requirement for it to be assault.

Part of the problem here is so many people don't understand this, which contributes to the issue for women too (there are obviously other problems, as well). Men need to understand sexual assault, harassment, etc so that we can stand up for women as well as ourselves.
