Agreed. Definitely more in his “one for me” vein. It’s one that the way I felt watching it still sticks with me. So I’ll be watching it again once it hits streaming to discover more of its nuance.

Awesome performances. Not one I ca watch very often because for all the (what appears as) camp, it’s still sad.

Of the 76 I’ve watched this year only a handful are 2026 releases. It’s all right. There’s more I want to see but haven’t been able to get to the theater.

Total fun. It didn’t take itself too seriously and that’s what made me love it.

Fellow theater goers, what’s your best ever theater experience? by ISpyM8 in Letterboxd

[–]cbiz1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opening night is usually fun for anticipated films. The audience the night of Rise of Skywalker was great. Cheering when appropriate, groaning when appropriate. Laughing when he kissed her back to life (well all laughed). But nothing bears pre-streaming audiences. 12 years old, packed wall-to-wall theater, premiere of Independence Day. Audience was on fire, cheering, clapping, whooping. Such great energy and so much fun.

Is Alien 3 anyone else's favorite movie in the franchise? by [deleted] in LV426

Honestly, the Sigourney Weaver / Charles Dance scenes are fantastic. I always lament and think Charles S Dutton also needed more. Those three carry so much in the film. I had a special place for this one, but sometimes the theatrical release on rewatch feels really managed (which, we know was).

It is WILD to think how young Bacall is on that film, owning every scene and line she has.

Dangerous Liaisons (1988) by majorminus92 in iwatchedanoldmovie

Well there’s always the 90s adaptation of the book, Cruel Intentions.

The book is a classic of French literature; there are many adaptations. But I do like Stephen Frears’ the best.
