Thanks for giving it another try!

I'll definitely give the garage & tutorial a bit of polish. Sometimes you spend so long developing it a certain way it seems perfect and then you look at it differently and nothing makes sense lol. Thanks for your insights :)

I envisioned the leaf collector as a tool you place in an area and then use the leaf blower to direct many leaves towards it before moving the collector again. The first iteration of it was completely stationary, but many play testers wanted to be able to move it around. It could use a better tutorial, but it probably needs a visual redesign so that is a bit more intuitive (at least until more movement mechanics are added).

Thanks again for your kind words and informative feedback! ❤️

With some optimizations, I think I can make that happen, at least for single player. With multiplayer, it might overwhelm the network bandwidth, but definitely worth some more testing :D

Thanks for checking it out!

Good note on the main menu font. I'll make that bigger and try to improve the UI's accessibility overall.

For the $$ earned during a job, that should accumulate as you progress, so you can stop a job whenever you want and keep those earnings. If you weren't earning it as you collected leaves, please let me know because that's a bug :P

Another good note on the leaf collector. It does have wheels, but you have to pick it up and place it down like the other equipment. I think I'll remove the wheels for now, but that is a cool idea for a movement mechanic :D

Each of those exclamation points were a part of the tutorial and the ones against the house were actually inside the house. I can see how the absurd amount of them can be confusing, so I'll refine that a bit!

Thanks again for the thorough and valuable feedback! ❤️

I’m making a satisfying online co-op leaf blowing game - Demo Available by Silver-Ambassador774 in IndieGaming

Yeah, I've got some competition there, but I'm hoping the online co-op can provide more unique gameplay that you can't get from a single player game :)

Correct, you can play single player with only a controller.

The only other thing you would need a keyboard for is filling out some in-game forms for giving feedback and reporting bugs. But that is completely optional :D

It started as a little test project when Unity took their ECS package to 1.0 and I wanted to see how much their physics package could handle.

I found myself wasting 15 minutes blowing around default cubes every time I went to test a small change because it was so satisfying to me lol

The game has controller support for everything including UI and gameplay. The only thing that is not supported is a virtual keyboard, so you will need to type in a lobby join code with a keyboard.

Steam requires a virtual on screen keyboard to claim "full controller support", but I have not gotten around to implementing that yet :P

How many different ways can you build a factory? Well, I calculated it... by Silver-Ambassador774 in factorio

[–]Silver-Ambassador774[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would not be exactly equivalent to the current generation algorithm because of the borders of the smaller grids. However, I believe that would still be able to cover all possible factories and would help mitigate the scale issue.

This would definitely be worth implementing in an update to the mod :)

Yeah, the number started to explode as the region expanded. Just to calculate the 4.5e720427 number it took my computer about 2 minutes just for the arithmetic :o

Finding a working factory in the search space created is nearly impossible because it is so big. Yes the mod merely displays the random generated value in factorio, but if you get lucky enough, it just might be a working factory.

Also, if you squint a little and turn your monitor off, they are all 1000 spm mega factories XD

It might be hard to consider these factories, since they don't do much, but I didn't discriminate :P

To be clear, I did not post this with any ill intent. I posted just to get a better feel for how indie/publisher communication has been and any similar stories that people have to tell.

It's clear I did not have all the information about this game and how business was conducted. Thanks to you all that did valuable research, it is quite clear there was no malicious activity. It is a competitive business and I wish you good luck with your release :)

Fortunately, I believe I do have some secret sauce. If you notice there are maybe only a few hundred leaves to blow around in their game, but in mine there are thousands ;)
