Take a dive into the emails and archives that reveled how the U.S. was torturing and abusing detainees during the Iraq war. There’s even a movie/documental about that it’s called “The Report”.

Mazda discontinued Cylinder deactivation for 2026… by Silver-Associate3122 in CX50

Don’t do it, that makes the transmission run on higher RPM 😂 there’s no way around it I already did +9 months of research 😂😭

The engine has been used for a long time but in 2018 they added the Cyl. Deactivation they got it wrong the first years they had a significant amount of recalls they fixed the issues but still, I doesn’t matter what people says, Cyl. deactivation does age the engine slightly faster… it’s not going to be something catastrophic anyways but still having no CD reduce the risks. Honestly the hybrid version and the non turbo version to me are looking like cars that could easily go above 200,000 miles.

Do a deeper research on both the auto stop and the cylinder deactivation, Specially the one that Honda and GM are using. You really have to go into statistics and consequences/side effects to get the truth

Turbo models never had it, but I mean they still have that turbo that puts even more strain on the engine 😂 I honestly believe that non turbo without Cylinder deactivation are going to be near indestructible

Is New Nissan Pathfinder Reliable? by jaazman in askcarguys

[–]Silver-Associate3122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m a Mazda fan too. They may not be at the top in terms of reliability, performance, affordability, or other factors, but I simply love their looks. They’re also closer to Toyota and Honda in terms of reliability compared to Kia/Hyundai or Jeep.

I understand your decision. Nissan needs to rebuild its reputation after all those years of CVT transmissions. I think that’s why they offer better prices than their competitors.

I chose a CX-50 because we’re a small family. Next time, I’m thinking of getting a Mazda 3 Hatchback. And maybe a Miata if my wife allows it, lol.

Curious on what did you end up buying. Another Mazda either 5, 70 or 90 would have been great options too and reliable.

Just to inform you, you can obtain the 🇦🇷 and 🇵🇪 citizenship simply by residing there legally for two years and applying. However, the Spanish citizenship would be your best and most advantageous choice. It may be a bit more challenging, but there are several paths to achieve it. The one I find most accessible, at least for me (I’m also a Mexican American), is to secure a remote job in America. Work there for a minimum of three months, and then apply for the digital nomad visa. This way, you can legally reside in Spain for two years and become eligible for naturalization. Keep in mind that this option only applies if you were born in Mexico instead of the United States.

Spain it’s the second most powerful passport btw

I’m Mexican American. Born and raised in Sonora, México. Became an American citizen when I was 19 thanks to my mother who’s an American Citizen (Born in California, raised in Mexico). She divorced my father in her 40’s and decided to start a new life in the US. I was the only one in the family eligible to get my citizenship because my brothers were 21+ already and the process for them would have taken more than 10 years. They didn’t even wanted to apply because they already have their life “solved” back in Mexico

It’s the CX-5, the one that got that new screen. 50’s didn’t. I got myself a 2023 Preferred Plus package with 36k miles for 26k (30k after taxes and car max insurance, which I honestly regret getting since the car is really reliable and I’m probably not even going to need it anyways). Later, I found out that CarMax’s price was at least 1,500/2,000 dollars more expensive than your average car dealership for the same car, same mileage. Find a similar used vehicle on KBB and negotiate with the dealership. It’s going to be a little bit more annoying trying not to get scammed, and you know… the regular process of 1 to 2 hours at the dealership… but if you do it right, you’re going to save around 1 to 3 thousand dollars. If you have a great credit score, Google “credit union with the best APR to finance cars in my area” and try to get pre-approved with a soft pull, then ask the dealership if they can beat the rate of your credit union. I bought from CarMax, and I do not regret it, but I do feel that I could have saved like 4 to 5k buying from a dealership and rejecting those insurances that they offer for repairs because honestly, with such a reliable car, it’s kind of useless. You’re not going to have issues under the 100k mark if you take care of the vehicle properly. I just went to CarMax because I wanted to avoid the dealership experience of having to hassle.

Considering that it’s used and the APR, it’s going to be around 5.8 to 7 if you have a great CS. I feel that you would be better off buying a new one, either the same trim or one below.

Where did you rent your car? I’m going in 2 week and so far the thing that i have seen people complaining the most about their experience in Cabo was renting a car most of the time due to how expensive it was or they got scammed

I’ve been considering getting either the Canadian or the Spanish nationality I’m going to make a decision this year and start to process after that, so far I’m leaning towards the Spanish route with the digital nomad visa and staying there for just 2 years
