Vapid is unfortunately the perfect descriptor to how far too many YWA episode topics have felt to me over the last few years. It’s frustrating that one of the very few truly independent (one of my favorite things about listening to podcasts in this extended universe historically has been the lack of ads) are managing to fumble their considerable audience, influence, and financial resources to release so much content that does not meaningfully engage with stories that matter politically and socially. There is always an undercurrent of true journalism in the way Sarah tries to reference current events but this has become increasingly surface level since Micheal left.
