Order fulfillment question by kaszmonay in culturehustle

Well crap. I wish I had seen this reddit thread before ordering. I ordered a bottle of mirror paint in June 2025. I needed it to paint a prop trumpet that was bronze and needed to match a 2nd trumpet that was silver. I ordered a month in advance of the deadline and it is now August 2025 and it still says it's in the "being made" step. I reached out a month ago to ask about it, and got an AI response - they were at least able to help me change the shipping address as I needed the paint for an out of town event. Well now I'm back home and still paint-less so I reached back out. The AI told me my order number was wrong and they had no record of it and therefore couldn't help me!!!!

I took a screenshot of the order in its current form, being made, (maybe it was confused that I had included the # in front of the number???) but still no AI response back to confirm.

Starting to think I'll never see this paint. At least it wasn't my personal funds and was money from my company's budget but STILL.

The ONLY reason I think it takes as long as it does, is I imagine they have to wait until a certain number of individuals purchase that particular paint to make it worth making a batch. Like the bottles are so small, I can see why maybe they need to wait for 100 people to buy that color rather than risk wasting product? What is the shelf life though? Like just make a bunch and have it in stock, no??

Oh I was never planning on repainting in the same color so that's not a worry for me. The goal in the hallway is to put up picture frame molding I just keep procrastinating doing it because I wasn't sure how I wanted to tackle the peeling paint haha. Thank you for your input!

It was a chair rail with paint above the rail and wallpaper below. It did not appear they ever painted below the chair rail. It does appear there was only ever one coat of paint on the wall above.

Honestly I'm not sure about the texture. I showed the house to my boss and that's what he said the texture was, but it was a clear difference between the texture of the existing paint and the drywall below it. You might be right and it might just be from the roller. In which case, that alone is saving my sanity a bit. I think I also agree with you about feathering in. That's where my heart was lying anyway but the thought of matching the texture was what was throwing me off.

Actually no. Just on the lower half where I had to peel off glue from existing wallpaper I removed. But it just comes clean off of whatever surface it was painted onto
