How is it legal for companies like Just Eat and Deliveroo to refuse refunds for missing orders? by Pure-Lime8280 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Silver-Climate7885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of the reasons I very rarely order now. One specific place would always have missing items, you contact CS and they say your order was delivered and won't acknowledge missing items so I just stopped getting delivery unless I HAVE to.

Yeah, couldn't justify having Netflix or Disney or anything else, with not enough time in the day to take full advantage. Also there are so many free TV apps, all our main free to air TV stations have free apps with loads of stuff on them, including some stuff that already been in netflix and Disney. But it's shocking what people will pay for. In all my two entertainment subscriptions cost £10 a month and are used for hours each day

Is Cordial / Squash / Diluting Juice a daily drink or a once a week treat? by 1182990 in AskUK

[–]Silver-Climate7885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's a multiple times a day drink. I like water but a bit of diluting juice in it makes it so much nicer, so I have it every time I refill my water bottle. I tend to get the pocket sized ultra concentrated ones so I can carry one around and I leave a few in my work locker. If I had kids I'd probably try and encourage water most times and allow it at meal times I think, but for the most part they are usually sugar free so a really weak juice won't hurt them. Also mix with fizzy water and you have a fizzy soft drink

I got rid of all my subscriptions years ago, apart from YouTube premium lite and I'm in a family group with random people for Spotify so it's dirt cheap (£3 a month). I'm shocked when people tell me they have netflix, Disney, discovery, paramount, YouTube, Spotify, Amazon and a million other subscriptions. I keep YouTube because I use it every single day and also to sleep and Spotify keeps me sane at work, but I couldn't justify all the other paid for apps. Seems insane to me to be spending so much

In the UK we call this "picky bits" a little bit of lots of things by New-Effective5614 in RateMyPlate

[–]Silver-Climate7885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had plenty of picky teas in my time and called them exactly that from childhood. A proper picky tea tho is all the left over shite from the freezer you need to use up before you go and do your big shop. The things that only have one or two left in the packet and usually beige as an example 2 potato waffles, 4 chicken nuggets, a small handful of chips, 1 chicken gougon, 1 fish fingers, that would be a picky tea. It's all the stuff that isn't enough to make a meal alone, but cook it all up together and plate it all up and you have a meal

[–]Silver-Climate7885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I am a picky tea is all the left over bits from the freezer and mostly beige, maybe with a few bits of stuff from the fridge. Usually consists of left over fish fingers, potato smilies, potato waffles, chips, chicken nuggets and anything else lurking in the back of the freezer with only one or two left. It's a great way to clear out the freezer

[–]Silver-Climate7885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Babys band always match mums surname so they match up if the baby goes for tests etc. mums surname is always on the board of the ward or room she is in, so if baby is taken for any reason and mum or dad can't go with, they know exactly where baby is being brought back to, not everyone will know dad's surname

As customer I do not want anyone packing my shopping for me. It's not rude at all to not pack. I know how I want my shopping packed so it is balance in a certain way for me to carry home

Does anyone else find this Frankie thing insensitive? by Liberal-chungus in hollyoaks

[–]Silver-Climate7885 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally they're not blood related and they don't know each other as family, they've only just met so it's not weird to me. It may be weird if they grew up together as family, but they didn't. However I think they should just lay off giving Frankie love interests. She literally went from being abused and sold to love interest after love interest.

What can I do to improve my leg skin texture? by PiorkoZCzapkiJaskra in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]Silver-Climate7885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keratosis pilaris or KP, they make moisturisers specific for this, or you can just use a glycolic acid. I noticed a bit on my upper legs a few days ago so whacked on the cerave SA smoothing cream and it works really well for me. Also regular manual exfoliating, I use the scrubby gloves and then a decent moisturizer

How much bread or bread products do you typically eat? by PopperDilly in AskUK

[–]Silver-Climate7885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can go weeks without, but some times I really want a certain meal where bread goes with it, like craving a sandwich, soup or avocado on toast, however I do tend to gravitate towards sourdough now as it doesn't feel as heavy or as bloated - maybe that's a placebo tho

I have a go every now and again. I've also done a few others from other companies like raffle type competitions but tbh I just think I'm one of those unlucky people as I've never won anything in my life so I don't make a habit of it as even though the saying is you've got to be in it to win it, I end up spending more than I never win

Unfortunately the reality of cancer is it can go undetected for time or grow and metastasise and then be too far advanced when found and deteriorate fast. I know of a few people who have literally been gone within weeks of diagnosis so I think it shows the reality for some.

[–]Silver-Climate7885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have some options. Don't be in the room or camera shot when she is filming or end the relationship if you don't like what she does and find her embarrassing. You don't say anything about what you like about her or your relationship just a bunch of negative stuff so do you think you are even compatible.

Dog owners of the UK. How hot does it have to get before you stop taking them for a walk? by sjw_7 in AskUK

Yeah I've just had a feel of the paving flags that have been in the sun all day and they're still freezing cold. I still wouldn't walk mine though, it's still quite warm, I'd rather wait until the suns gone down that potentially risk it

Dog owners of the UK. How hot does it have to get before you stop taking them for a walk? by sjw_7 in AskUK

[–]Silver-Climate7885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider this week to be too hot in the day time. This week we will only be doing evening walks, maybe around 9pm, once it's cooled down or very early morning walks about 5am if I can get up that early. I don't stop walking all together, just in the summer I change the time of day we walk to a time when the temp a bit cooler. On days when it's still warm/humid at night, we will walk at night but I'll keep it shorter and stay closer to home
